“A fine quality hotel”

At checkin I was extremely dissapointed that the room or a room was not yet available. The time of checkin was 16:00. I had to wait until 17:00 before a room was available. Overall the quality of the hotel and the staff were very pleasant and attended to our needs as required. The staff were very helpfull and attended to any requests with regards to hotel facilities or amenties etc. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience staying at the Marriot. I would have liked to be able to have better control over the room airconditioner as it was either on of off with specific temperature however you could not just run the fan. It is a perfect location right in the heart of Pattaya.

Area recommendations

Jomtien, good food available. Walking street and surrounding areas for nightlife. Central Pattaya if you are really into shopping.

“Good all round choice”

Hotel is right in middle of Pattaya but inside you don't hear any street noise. Nice pool area and bar (plus 2 entertaining parrots) Staff very helpful. Only thing didn't like was that hotel adds 10% service to everything (like every other hotel and restaurant) but leaves all tabs open for TIPS. At Meridien in Bangkok they don't do this and i was told that the Sheraton in Pattaya makes clear to customers that additional tipping is only for exceptional service.

Getting around

Getting around is easy using the 'baht taxis'. the passengers sit in the back of the truck and pay between 20 and 100 baht depending on the length of the journey. They run up and down the main streets (which are one way) and you flag them down.You can go from Central pattaya to Jom Tien for 100 Baht If you use a taxi cab, make sure they turn the meter on -or you agree the fare in advance

Outdoors or beach

Jom Tien is a neighbouring town that runs into Pattaya. The Jom Tien beach is much nicer than pattaya. You can go from Central pattaya to Jom Tien for 100 Baht in a baht taxi

“Not impressed”

well it looks its very old building they need to do some thing for maintenance....the staff were coperative...only the room has old wooden smell....not a 5 star standard old bathroom...one of the worst Marriot property...
