I'm guessing most people who are spending the night in Calais are doing so as a stop off to go somewhere else.
That was my case anyway, I wanted a bed after getting off the ferry from Dover and the hotel is ideally situated 3minutes (on the satnav) from off the ferry, and a very short walk to the town.
Unlike the other reviewer on here we were given a groundfloor room away from the lighthouse so I can't speak about that.
The hotel is best described as a Blackpool B&B in Calais. Budget and no frills, it does everything it needs to do. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was nice, and the lady who brought it was very friendly and cheerful.
The main guy had patience to persevere with my French although whether this was for his amusement, out of respect or because he couldn't speak English, I don't know!
In short, it's ok, nothing special but good for one night if you're on your way to somewhere else, and any money you can save before you get to your destination is extra spending money!!
