Nice hotel but difficult to find

Posted 29-May-2015
Pros: The location
Cons: We were up on the top floor and had to haul our bags up one flight. The elevator only went floor below us.
Location: The two major town squares are within easy walking distance. The old cathedral and the underground caves are easily accessible.
Room was small but clean. The bathroom was excellent. No desk so it was difficult setting up my computer. Close to the heart of the old town ... easy walking distance where there were lots of restaurants.

Great Location

Posted 05-May-2015
Location: Fantastic location and perfect place to stay to visit the 1st world war battlefields
It was a perfect hotel for what we needed. It is in a great location and our room was extremely quiet. We did not eat in the hotel as we felt the breakfast was too expensive for what we wanted and the restaurant and bar never seemed to have anyone in them. The hotel deco is a little tired and needs updating but it was clean and the staff we extremely nice and helpful.

Centre of the town easy walking distance

Posted 04-Apr-2015
Pros: The atmosphere
Cons: No
Location: If you want to experience history in terms of WW1 this is one of the places you must visit.
This was just what I wanted to give my daughter the experience of France. The food was excellent to eat in but you could also just walk out and eat in the centre of town. Did not use the car once in three days as we could walk to all the attractions. Whilst in the centre of town not noisy at all.

Reasonable, Great Breakfast

Posted 28-Mar-2015 on Hotels
This place was fine. We elected to stay closer to the Place de Heroes rather than the train station where many other hotels cluster. This hotel appeared to be popular with the Belgian/Dutch business set. Best thing was the breakfast on offer (not included, but affordable). Definitely the best hotel breakfast we encountered in France. Would stay again no hesitation.

Central Hotel, good service at a price

Posted 16-Mar-2015
Pros: Location, restaurant, exterior looks and its quiet close to town centre.
Cons: The room (Charm) lacked storage & the bed wasn't comfortable, it was a small double with another single in the room. Why not full size double instead?
Location: Lots to do in the area and the town was wonderful although I dont know why they have piped music in the streets!
Good restaurant where we were looked after in a most professional manner. This was our highlight. The room was disappointing, functional and looking out over a flat roof. You are paying for location with this hotel.

Lovely quiet spot in the centre of town

Posted 18-Feb-2015
Pros: Beautiful building. Town centre yet felt quiet location.
Cons: The room smelled like someone had been in recently.
Location: Many WW1 sites to see, especially the town square which was rebuilt, the Wellington quarry and Vimy Ridge.
Great hotel and great location right in the centre of town and down a small side road so felt a little secluded. Realised from the description in the book that this was the hotel Elizabeth stayed at in the 70s in Sebastian Faulkes book Birdsong. Excellent food in the restaurant.

Hotel close to centre of Arras.

Posted 16-Dec-2014
Pros: The ground floor decor was nicely done. The bed was very comfortable
Cons: Drawer space. When 2rooms are bought for the same price they should be of equal value.
Location: Plenty of shops just a few steps away. Short walk to the squares and restaurants. The Boves under the square worth a visit
We were a party of 4 and although the booking was in my name for 2 double rooms at the same price, I was given a lesser room with 4ft bed and a single with a view of the roof and very little w\drobe space. The other room overlooked the courtyard and had a king size bed. I.did complain but was told they were full and the receptionist then walked away from me. Breakfast was ok but the 1 staff could not cope with the demand.A good weekend was had but hotel could make more effort.
