“Spectaular on the surface, rusty underneath”

This was by second trip to this hotel. It's a spectaular looking place, in a rough round the edges part of Paris. The material wall paper, beautiful furniture etc. is all lovely. Service is friendly, but not hugely effective. The trouble is that things are just not very well rounded - we got two single beds pushed together instead of a double - always a bad sign, no water in the room, mold on the walls in the bathroom, a grotty bath in an otherwise very attractive bathroom, and a general feeling of tattiness round the edges. It's a shame - as a bit of money spent on just keeping the place in top condition would turn this hotel into a real gem. As it is, I'd reccomend a vist, just nowhere near their full outrageous price!
