“Brilliant location - fantastic views - helpful staff - 2 happy guests”

Nice, modern, clean hotel, good sized room - with a view of the Eiffel tower :-) Scores of good cafes, bars, (v. popular with locals too) on the same street as the hotel. Many open v.v late - very useful as we arrived just before midnight very hungry (2.5 hour minibus transfer from airport to hotel, as driver got lost (stopped at Acr de Triumphe to ask directions!!) Note: great local creperie literally round the corner from the hotel!) Lots of atmosphere in neighbourhood - friendly and helpful local people. There are 3 metro stations within 5 to 10 minutes walk of the hotel - so perfect for getting in to the heart of Paris. Hotel staff very helpful - especially in relation to chasing up our transfer *back* to the airport (minibus got lost again?! - Don't book a shared transfer via Amazon). Also we got a room with a stunning view of the Eiffel tower - requested when we booked the room via Expedia - so that made it just about perfect. Would go again - but only after saving up hard - prices are around double for food/drink :-( But, the food was fantastic everywhere we went - And the beer was rather nice too ;-)

“Terrass Hotel a Honeymoon Haven”

Truly enjoyed our stay at the Terrass Hotel in Montmatre which is on the outskirts of Paris. Small room but quite romantic. Just right for honeymooners. Fantastic view! Staff pleasant. The open air terrance on 8th floor was wonderful. Food good; however the resturant was open for breakfast only. Enjoyed the area its resturants and shops. It was easy to get to the heart of Paris from the hotel by bus or subway. We would return to the Terrass and highly recommend it. It lives up to the 4 star status.

Area recommendations
Montmatre because it is on the outskirts of Paris and the highest point in the city. While the area can be busy it never seemed extremely crowded with tourist. It's like the tale of two cities in that you have the church of the sacred cross up the hill and the Moulin Rouge down the hill. It didn't take a lot of time to get into Paris proper.
When to go
We traveled in the middle of the week from Wednesday to Tuesday because we had just gotten married and our funds were tight. Saved about $2,000 as air and hotel was bundled.
Getting around
The bus and subway systems serving Paris are very efficient. The same ticket can be used for both. We took a shared shuttle from and to the hotel/airport. Only downfall is that we arrived at the hotel well before the check in time. However staff took care of our bags and we were off sight seeing. We had to check out an hour or two earlier than we would have it we had taken a cab to the airport.
Shopping
US dollar worth is lower than the Euro. During our stay if fell approx 20 more cents because the US government had not balance its budget and there was the threat of US defaulting on its loans. Everything is expensive in comparison to pricing in the States.

“A welcome in Paris”

Sitting half way up the Montmartre hill and situated on a corner above the cemetery Terass Hotel is blessed with an unrestricted panoramic view south across the city. But this is not the reason to book in here. Rather the welcoming and accommodating staff, and the impeccable cleanliness of the rooms is the real selling point. The rooms could be brighter but the balance of location, reasonable cost, and faultless service make this a winner.

Area recommendations
Montmartre - this is postcard Paris. Around Abbesses Galleries (real modern work - not tourist tripe), designers, bars and cafes, provide a mix of resident life woven with tourist traffic. At weekends the buskers add rhythm and colour to the pavements.
Must see
Eiffel Tower after dark - go to the second level and you can see the whole city lit up. Book online to avoid queues.

“Lovely hotel, great location.”

Try the Terrass Bar on the 7th floor of the hotel. A little pricey, but well worth it for the view of virtually the whole of Paris. Montmartre is a lovely area with has plenty of places to eat & drink. All the main attractions are a Metro ride away. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

“Food, Lovely Neighborhood and Wonderful Paris”

I really enjoyed this hotel and the delightful neighborhood. I would definitely return again. A comfortable hotel with a few maintenance problems, like not enough pillows, the staff was helpful and considerate. They got us taxis, helped us plan outings. A delightful bar, sitting area.

Area recommendations
The hotel is at the end of the Abbesses with little stores, shops, restaurants and near a metro station. It was a great place to start the day and end it. Can't wait to return to Paris and The Terrass hotel.
