“One of my favorite places”

I have been staying at Select Hotel in Paris for many years now and always enjoy going back. The first draw to me was location- on le Place de la Sorbonne right by Luxembour Gardens. I love the square and views of it. The rooms are really nice and of decent size, especially for Paris. The Baths are nice but do need shower curtains but this is France. Service is also friendly and I enjoy the breakfasts and breakfast room. I recommend this hotel and I am looking forward to returning soon. Free High speend internet is also a plus.

“Ideal Rive Gauche location”

Modern, well run hotel in the Place de la Sorbonne close to a range of restaurants and convenient public transport links.

Area recommendations

Rive Gauche and Pantheon areas are lively with lots of hotels and restaurants, and are ideal bases for exploring all of Paris and surrounding areas.

“Nice, quaint hotel!”

“Chose your room with care”

The hotel was in a great location and very well appointed but despite booking a superior room it was tiny. The bathroom no bigger than a wardrobe. Its saving grace was that it was very quiet.

“Always worth returning”

One of the best places to stay if you like the Left Bank. The Pompidou Centre, Notre Dam and the St Germain commercial galleries all within walking distance. Excellent book shops and Luxemberg Gardens are also close. The only problems were the bathroom is very small and the lighting for shaving could be improved. The staff are very obliging and friendly. Breakfast not quite up to the standard it was 15 yrs ago, but still good.

“Definitely use this hotel again”

This hotel is in a perfect location as it is near the train station and metro. Three excellent restaurants to choose from just outside the hotel. Hotel was lovely, modern and exceptionally clean. We were only there for 3 days, yet the maid came in everyday, changed sheets and bath towels. The buffet breakfast was excellent and enough to set you up for the day. Staff were very friendly and helpful recommending places to go and the correct trains or buses to get there. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone on a city break.

Area recommendations

I would recommend the latin quarter as it is very lively, quite central for everything. The Notre Dame Cathedral is nearby the hotel. I would also recommend getting the Batobus (boat on the Seine) or taking an Open Top Bus tour as you can get on and off at many of the stops at your leisure using the same ticket for both of these.
