“Great hotel, but not really a central location”
This is an excellent hotel. The only down side was that it just isn't very central.
“Excellent Business Location”
Not the tallest of hotel's, so the view you get from the room could be quite dull, but I looked out to La Grande Arche, and the north-west of Paris which given the sunshine was excellent. Excellent staff who tolerated my limited French with patience and good humour, very efficient and excellent location for the offices in and around La Defense (esp 8). Spacious room, very comfortable and clean, and very difficult to find a single fault.
“Very Comfortable Hotel”
Our room was very comfotable and very clean and tidy. The room had a king size bed, large TV and minibar. The bathroom was of a reasonable size and had the usual soaps, shampoos and lotions. The shower was very good and easy to use. We used the hotel bar, very good friendly service but prices in Paris Hotels are not cheap! The hotel was 5 mins walk from the RER/Metro station. All in all, a comfortable hotel and we will stay here again when in Paris.
“Excellent hotel”
This was an excellent hotel in a great location for a very good price. Staff were friendly and really helpful. There was a problem with the free WIFI, available on the first two floors, and we were offered a complimentary high speed internet connection in our room. The hotel is located 5 min. walk from the metro station La Defense.
“Nice hotel, but only if you're on business in La Defense”
Can't really fault the hotel - even the standard rooms are very big by Parisian standards (I.e. normal sized by any other standards). everything was very clean and tidy and the sound proofing between rooms seemed to be very good. However don't go there expecting to find anything of interest nearby - I was on business in the Porte Maillot area and was expecting something along the lines of London's canary wharf, but la Defense is just a business district with absolutely no soul or options for dining/entertainment after work. Hotel restaurant (which we resorted to after trying in vain to scout out somewhere more imaginative) was nice, but very expensive for what it was. Unless you're on business somewhere very close by and won't have time to go further afield I'd certainly suggest staying somewhere more central.
“Good hotel in la defense”
The hotel is clean and very comfortable and is perfect if you are in Paris for business in la defense. The RER the Metro and the bus station is les than 3 minutes walk. Prices in the hotel are off the roof, 8€ for a 1L bottle of water is extortion, but if you're going to Paris you should be prepared to leave a lot of money there.
“Renaissance La Defense”
The Renaissance is a very nice hotel and nicely located in La Defense. However, unless you are willing to eat in the Hotel restaurant every night - whch would be a shame in Paris and a very costly experience - you would have to go into the Heart of Paris to find a decent restaurant. Fortunately the Metro runs until 12.30am,
“First upgrade at the Renaissance”
Got upgraded to a junior wuite, which was very very spacious. Only minor grumble was that the sign telling me that the water was complimentary was there, but the water wasn't. Didn't notice until the morning when I went to make a drink, but only a minor issue.
“Very comfortable business hotel decent value”
The Renaissance at La Defense is a solid 4-star, very convenient for visiting some of the major businesses at the western end of this complex. It's quite a classy hotel - the rooms are kind of old-fashioned but rather appealing 4.5 star, in excellent condition (they are clearly fairly newly decorated, just in a rather traditional way). A few 5-star amenities like a decent shoe-horn are indeed lacking. Public spaces are quite impressive. The restaurant did a decent job - fairly pricey, but it saves you potentially a long walk or a trip into town. All staff very friendly, particularly by French standards where sometimes it ain't so! My only complaints (1) the free wifi in the Expedia deal wasn't automatic (I wasn't actually that bothered, and I am sure they would have sorted it out), & (2) there was an almost complete lack of accessible electric sockets in the room! For a business hotel whose guests will want to charge laptops, phones and so on at the same time, that is an issue. The staff seemed to be on the ball though, so I suspect they would have provided an n-way adapter or something if asked. For the hotel quality, and the ultra-convenient location, it's fair value and has a certain impersonal charm.
“Not Impressed”
Air conditioning in the corridor is noisy at night, and no room service after midnight.
