“Cheap Hotel”
Nice staff.
“Great location”
The hotel rooms are tiny but we expected it. And I mean tiny. A double bed with room for one person to stand on each side. No wi-fi in rooms, only in lobby. It was clean and decent. For the money and the great location, you can't beat it. But if you plan to spend a lot of time in your room and you like to rest in it and be comfortable in it, this is not the place for you. We were gone from morning until midnight and were only in the room to sleep at night. It served our purposes. The staff was very nice and polite, all spoke enough English to get the job done. No issues, no complaints. Not sure that the AC box worked but we were there in October and it was cool. IF you are going in the summer, be sure to check on that.
“disappointed”
It´s not the first time we (my wife and I) have been in Paris, neither it´s the first time we stay in a 3 star hotel there. All our previous staying have been in accordance with what we - and any one else - would expect of a 3 star hotel, some of them even above our expectation, which is not the case with this hotel. It certainly doesn´t deserve 3 stars! During our staying, which for many reasons I would classify as very unpleasant, we experienced many discomforts, but I will focus in two specific events. First, the air-conditioning didn´t work, not a single day; second, the last 2 days of our staying there was no soap at bathroom, so we called the reception asking for some and a very unprofessional employee came to our room with bottles of shampoo, yelling at me "there is no soap... it´s not my fault...", he gave me the bottles and left saying there was nothing else he could do. There is more, but I don´t want to waste more of my time detailing the them.
“The location couldn't be better”
The location was excellent, it was about five minutes walking to Louvre Museum and all the interesting places you could be. I totally recommend this hotel to people travelling to Paris. The breakfast was more than I expected.
“SERVED OUR NEEDS”
We stayed for 1 night, then left for a canal barge tour. It served our needs.
“Pleased”
It was our first trip to Paris, hotel staff was pleasant and English was spoken at front desk. Room was larger than we expected (after hearing about how small the rooms in Paris are). Everything worked and the room was clean. Great value purchasing through Expedia, the posted room rates were much higher.
“fulfilled its purpose.”
First off - since you're looking at this review, you're planning on heading to Paris.... GREAT choice for a vacation or business stop. It is literally amazing!! I chose Pavillon Louvre Rivoli because of price and most importantly the location. The location is GREAT! It is seriously, a couple blocks from the Louvre. I don't speak any French and was very concerned about being able to deal with the hotel staff. Their English is pretty broken and not the best. However, we managed ok. One of the night staff had me use google translate to make sure we were understanding each other. The rooms are small - however, I was in the rooms less than 8-9hrs a day. The bathrooms were clean... they DO NOT have an abundance of towels. One day i came back to a clean room but the maid left no towels. I asked the front desk for a towel and they said they were in the wash. I said, well, that's not going to help me. I need to have something for the morning.... they seriously gave me a hotel bathrobe to use. Surprisingly, i just threw it on after my shower and it worked well... HAHA! However, I wasn't amused at the time, a little frustrated. They have wifi- but it is terrible. Only works on the first floor and is spotty at that. I would say if you're looking for a really nice place, this isn't it. If you're single or a couple that just wants to crash in the midst of busily visiting the city - its perfect. Breakfast is 8-9Euro. Don't buy it... fresh bakery to your right when leaving hotel.
“Not impressed”
This hotel tried but didn't succeed. They seem to be running on reputation with this hotel and nothing else. Some examples. - We almost ran out of toilet paper because they didn't leave any more when the maid service came through. - The controls for the shower stuck 1/3 of the way into the shower itself, making it too easy to bump and change the water to scalding hot or freezing cold. My brother-in-law, staying at the same hotel experienced this: First night: they overbooked and put him in a different hotel. Second night: back in the original hotel but he complained about the stuffiness of the room (ours was bad as well) and asked for a fan. They didn't have any more so they switched him to a room with A/C. He was good with that. Third night: he came back to the room with the A/C and someone else's luggage was there and his was GONE!!! He went down to the front desk and the response was "I show you in 503." My brother-in-law responded "but this key is to 613"...again the front desk says "I show you in 503"...no help at all. Fortunately, it was the cleaners that took his luggage so they had it in the luggage closet and they finally put him in his FOURTH room of the trip... Horrible.
“Will be back some day.”
We traveled all the way from Colwyn Bay by train. Checking in at St Pancras very smooth. We had an enjoyable four days in Paris and saw most of the sights within reach, most of them within walking distance. Metro stations are ideally located and quite easy to us - buying a carnet of tickets is highly recommended and easy to use.
“Value for Money”
This hotel was in a great location for all the main sights of Paris with the Louvre only a couple of minutes walk. The hotel was basic but the room was very clean although parts of the hotel could have done with a lick of paint. Overall the location ,price and cleanliness of the room far outweighed any negatives. I would definately recomend this hotel
