Hotel in the worst part of town Posted 05-Aug-2014
The hotel is in a very bad part of town. I would never suggest this place for someone alone, or small groups (3 or less). The hotel is near a metro station, but it is the end of the line, requiring you to leave quite early from anywhere of interest in the city if you are planning on taking the train back to the hotel. Otherwise, be prepared for a hefty cab fee (average 35 euros). Aside from the very dangerous location, the hotel was in poor working order. Our keys reset nightly, so we had to stop by the desk every day to have them reprogrammed (usually after a long wait in the lobby). The fitness center was always closed before closing time (posted 2300 local, checked once as early as 2100 and was closed). The staff was not very knowledgeable about the area at all; we asked if there was a grocery store or convenience mart near and they said nothing close, but in fact there is a large grocery store in the mall at the metro station 1 block away. 2 times they failed to give us our wake up call. The "free" internet appeared to have an IP limit, so if you were not connected before that was reached then there was no internet to use. There are no transportation services or services to assist with tourism (no concierge). I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they were giving rooms away.
