The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The first night, we had an issue with a drunk guy upstairs and the very next day, they took care of it. This place is a simple but safe hotel, safe area, walking distance to major stations for public transportation (porte d'orléans). Nice and cheap restaurant around. The hotel is clean and they offer breakfast for 10 Euros which I strongly suggest you take. You will get coffee, unlimited croissant, and many other things. A simple breakfast in a local café will cost you more or less the same. For me, the important thing for a hotel is clean and safe and this hotel met my standard. A little warning: there is NO elevator and the stairs to get upstairs are very steep and narrow. In other words, if you have the slightest physical impairment, this hotel might not be for you. Also, I am not sure how you would get big suitcase up there. I would definitely contact the owner to request a room at the lowest level possible.

The staff is very friendly. The Hotel is ok. Quiet area. 40 minutes by metro to city centre. It hasn't got lift and staircase is narrow. The room was a bit dusty and I found hair on my bed.

I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a great location. This hotel was the perfect choice! A 5 minute walk to Port d’Orleans subway and walking distance to several cafes and bakeries. The staff was excellent - very welcoming and they were happy to store our luggage before and after our stay. The room and bathroom were small - typical of other Paris hotels. It was basic but very clean. If you have mobility issues or lots of heavy luggage, be aware that there is no elevator and the stairs are very tight and winding. We mentioned it to the staff and they said next time to call in advance and they will give us a room on a lower floor (we were on the 4th floor this time). If you’re on a budget, don’t need many amenities, and looking for a good home base for your Paris travels, this is it!

Its good to have somewhere that's safe, clean, comfortable and in close proximity to central Paris. Very economical and worth it. I would definitely recommend and would book again on our next trip.

Nice little hôtel, really friendly and competent staff, close to the metro, so close to everything pretty much. No air conditionning, so it was a bummer, but other than that, pretty nice room. Clean bathroom in your room directly too, so it’s nice. They even let me sleep past the checkout time without waking me up and didn’t charge me anything.

Positive aspects: Small but clean room. Shower was strong and warm. Location close to the metro station. Negative aspects: Wifi signal is very weak. Practically the same as no Wifi. When I checked out, the registration system at the front desk was down or something and the hotel couldn't issue the invoice. The front desk asked me to send an email to request the invoice later. I did send emails multiple times, but my emails were all neglected...

No-Frills Convenience
When in Paris, one (and indeed I was a solo traveler) is not looking to spend a lot of time in his hotel room. The Hotel Montsouris Orléans was a perfect place to rest my head at night. The room was tiny, but decently appointed (except for a stain on the bedspread cover I would have expected them to have washed out). The front desk was serviceable, if uninterested. When I needed to deal with them, they were perfectly nice, in French and English. My only real complaint is that I didn't received housekeeping services the day before my final night's stay. Potential clients should also be aware that the staircase to the upper floors is VERY steep and narrow, and there is no elevator. As young and able-bodied as I am, I had difficulty navigating upstairs with my suitcase. Also, the wifi is extraordinarily weak on the third ("second") floor, and I must imagine non-existent on the fourth. The alley behind the hotel got a little noisy and smoky at night. Since there is no air conditioning, keep this in mind if you plan on staying during the summer. It's a 5-minute walk to the Porte-Orléans metro, and about a 12-minute walk to the RER-B train to de Gaulle.

This is a basic small hotel. The single room was quite small. The bathroom was clean and some toiletries were provided. The view at the back of the hotel left a tot to be desired. Breakfast was typically continental but satisfactory. Would I stay her again not sure.

Overall I had a good one night stay, the room was nicely decorated and clean, the queen size bed was comfortable, the bathroom is a bit small though. Two remarks: there is no A/C nor elevator. The staff is very friendly, they allowed me to keep my bag after checking out so that I could enjoy Paris on my last day without carrying it.

This hotel met the minimum of my requirements, but nothing delighted me. It didn't feel particularly clean or inviting. The mattress was VERY firm and my husband has a bad back and then was sick all night- he feels like the hard bed exacerbated his issues. We ended up folding up a spare blanket in the room to try and add padding underneath him. The shower drain was slow and the shallow shower almost overflowed until I turned off the water. The spiral staircase up to the rooms is TIGHT and steep. The staff was nice enough. They didn't speak much English but luckily my husband speaks French. Still, there were some misunderstandings. The area is pretty quiet, so that's good if that's what you're looking for. It wasn't too long of a walk to find some restaurants and such.

It's good located, just 10 min to underground and very good reception. Kindly people and comfort acomodation. I would book again. It doesn't take too longo to the city centre and there are many restaurants and market in nearby

Great deal: comfortable and modern
The hotel room was very comfortable and modern and a great deal. Clearly it has been renovated recently. The staff were very helpful with tips for the area, organizing transport to the airport, and allowed us to store our bikes and trailer in the courtyard. Our original room faced the courtyard, where people smoke, but luckily we were able to switch to a street-facing room, which was bright and quiet. The location is very convenient, with a supermarket, excellent boulangerie, metro and many restaurants just two blocks away.

I chose this hotel because it is close to Cité Universitaire where my daughter lives. The hotel is decorated in a Moroccan style, the room was spacious compared to other hotels in the neighborhood. Close to the metro and the RER stations, to a parc and to small shopping center, cafes and restaurants.

King size = double size?
as a tourist, the stay is OK since you only back to room for shower and sleep.The people is nice. Only thing I don't like was it said king size bed when I booked, but actually it was a double size. the explanation was in Paris, King size = Queen size = double size. I went to the department store to verify, the equation is not true:). Please to be straight forward on Ads.

I stayed here for my last night in Paris. It was a nice room with wifi access. The bathroom was a bit small, but thats normal for hotels in Paris. Everything was very clean and overall I as quite satisfied with the room. In addition the people working here are very kind and they went out of their way to help me out. I would definetly recommend staying here!

Budget hotel. No escalator, so be prepared to carry your suitcases up very narrow stairs. No aircon or fans in the room. Staff were friendly and allowed us to check in 3 hours early. Good location, metro station just around the corner. Wifi didn't work in our room.

Great place to sleep, and convenient location.
The 2 bedroom room was very tiny, both twin beds were pushed up together, but they were both comfortable. Really all we needed was a place to sleep and a bathroom, and this place was great. The bathroom, while tiny, had a very nice shower. If you intend on doing a lot in Paris and only really sleeping in your room, this place is great. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself was in a quiet area. The only complaint was that the staircase was spiral and so extremely steep! Can't help that, but it was a pain to walk up to our rooms on the 4th floor with how steep the stairs were. The hotel is right near a metro station that takes you in to most of the major tourist locations, and it is super easy to switch to another line to get where you need to go. Also, this place was near a small corner store that sold kebabs, burgers and pizza extremely late into the night, which is nice considering most other places closed fairly early. Down the street was a small bakery where you can buy a cheap breakfast. Overall, I enjoyed it and would stay there again. The price was great, too.

So Much More Than You Would Expect.
Not only are they kind people, but they're so helpful too. And the place itself - definitely above it's price range in terms of quality. They redid every room and they're fantastic for what you pay.close to a subway station, so getting to all the sights is not a problem at all! HIGHLY recommended!

Only 15 mins to every sight via the underground and port Orleans station. Rooms were clean which is why this gets top marks. House keeping is daily and the rooms are secure and not far from the underground

A well located hotel with a friendly manager/owner
Although this is a basic hotel in terms of facilities, this is to be expected from a 1 star rating and this is reflected in a competitive room rate. The hotel is well situated for access into the centre of Paris. The rooms, although on the small side (I believe this is not uncommon in Paris), are perfectly adequate, clean and quiet. The bathroom in our room was again small, but was modern and had a good shower. We enjoyed our experience at this hotel and would certainly use it again.

A decent hotel to use as a base for seeing the sig
The hotel was absolutely fine: nothing too out of the ordinary, but very clean, quiet and located very close to the Porte d'Orléans Metro station. There are two well stocked convenience stores / supermarkets within less than 2 minutes walk, as well as several good bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the area seems safe and clean. The close proximity to Parc Montsouris is a definite bonus: it's a nice place in which to stroll and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I would describe the breakfast as adequate, though nothing special, and the lack of a lift (or elevator, if you prefer) is unfortunate if you happen to be staying on the upper floors: the staircase is very step and very narrow, meaning that lugging one's luggage up several flights is a bit of a pain. All in all, I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relatively low-cost and convenient place to stay in the gorgeous city of Paris.

A good hotel for a few nights stay.
I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. It is in a quite neighborhood and about 3 blocks from the metro and the tram. Definitely a good option with good connectivity. The rooms are standard size for a Paris hotel, mattress was comfortable. The room was clean. The bathroom is OK, clean and with a good shower. I booked the hotel 4 weeks before my trip at fairly good rate. It is preferable to get a room on the lower floor as there is no elevator. The receptionist was very friendly and kind.

Decent budget room near Porte d'Orleans
Single room was tiny, but newly re-done and very clean. No elevator, so beware that you have to carry bags up spiral stairs. A few blocks from the Porte d'Orleans Metro station on the #4 line. Not close to any sights, but a short metro hop will get you to them. Good value for the price, decent neighborhood.
