“Perfect for Longchamp and St Cloud racecourses”

Stayed here for Arc weekend, and it was spot on for the racetrack. Hotel very comfortable, with complimentary wifi, a good breakfast (reasonable for Paris at €17) and friendly service. Beer in the bar is expensive however!

Getting around

If you're going horse racing to Longchamp, or St Cloud, take the tramway from La Defense to Seresnes Longchamp and it's a ten minute walk from there, avoiding all the Sunday race crowds.

“Great place to stay”

This hotel is slightly outside of the city but the shuttle service offered allows for quick and convenient access to the city. The staff is very helpful to international travelers. We were unexpectedly given a room with a view of the city and the Eiffel Tower, and our stay was nothing but enjoyable and relaxed. Highly recommended!

Getting there

The hotel however does not mention how to use the free shuttle before arriving, which I found to be not very helpful. Travelers should know that upon taking the Metro train A to La Defence they can go to Sortie G (exit G) and follow signs for the Mercure pick up. There is a button than can be pressed to call the shuttel to be picked up or they come and regular intervals into the bus/shuttle pickup area. Knowing this would have saved us a quite overpriced cab fare!

“Dissappointing stay”

first time i have experienced rudeness specifically in housekeeping. with staff just opening room doors although they did knock, even with the do not disturb sign is posted and staff asking you to get your own coffee items from the crew lounge as they don't have personnel to bring these items to your room. only to be insulted by bringing you heaps of these items you cannot hold in two hands when these was requested from the reception. and the reception people, they tell you rudely that you cannot have your request of a late check out and if you ask some more, they allow you but with a warning of sort. after years of staying in diffferent hotels around the world paris included this hotel has just the worst service i have ever encountered. oh yes there's an eiffel tower view,but aren't hotel a service oriented industry? and aren't the housekeeping people be able to speak english.

“Good value for money”

This hotel is very good value for money. The neighborhood is lovely with shops, cafes and restaurants. You can buy cheap bottles of water, sandwiches, etc from the local supermarket so that you do not have to pay extortionate prices at tourist attractions. The free shuttle service to the metro (La Defence) is OK, but we found that it was quicker to catch the local bus when returning to the hotel from the station. The bus ride takes a few minutes only. There is a direct train from La Defence to Disney Park. The free shuttle service to the station can be improved.

“handy for all services and for La Defense”

About a fifteen minute walk to the RER and metro but there is a hotel minibus. The hotel restaurant and room service are unavailable at weekends but there are local facilities including shops. Thankfully not a hich rise hotel.

“Wrong side of town”

Made a big mistake with our selection of hotel. Too far east from Gare de Nord train station and from the centre of Paris.Expensive breakfast

Area recommendations

If going by eurostar- find a hotel nearer to the station or between the station and the city centre.
