“A Great Place to Stay”
The Hotel is lovely. We had a family room that was bigger than anticipated, clean and well appointed with large, comfy beds, an excellent ensuite, cooking facility (which we didn't use) and a good wardrobe, telly etc. The room was clean, quiet and well serviced by the cleaning staff. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly, they were in every respect very professional. The hotel is well positioned, the metro is just around the corner, there are a couple of bars / restaurants next door that are good for meals (including breakfast if you choose) there is a supermarket 200 yards further up the road and a pharmacist very near too. It was not the cheapest Hotel on offer but the deal that we had was very good and I feel that we experienced a first class Hotel at a bargain price, it definitely added to our sense of 'being on Holiday'. All in all a really great find that we would be happy to re-visit.
“Unexpected oasis of calm”
Great location for exploring the Marais. Metro on the doorstep to get anywhere else. Hotel is better than I would have expected for the price. What was most unexpected was the internal courtyard - lovely garden-type setting where you can sit out, have a drink, read a book, just relax after tramping the sites of Paris.
“Great hotel in good location”
The hotel is 1 mins walk from the Metro, and 5 minutes walk from either the Place de la Republique or the Basitille. The Marais district has lots of restaurants/bars particularly if you head south towards the Bastille. Very convenient for getting around generally. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was a good size and had a kitchenette and fridge, apparently the normal rooms are quite small but what do you expect in central Paris. The room quality was excellent, very clean and nicely furnished and the bed very comfortable. The garden area and reception / public areas are tastefully decorated and smart. Would definitely go again!
“Great place to stay”
The Jardin du Marais Hotel was as good in real life as it sounded on expedia. Very clean, roomy, quiet and an overall a really good hotel. The location is in the bohemian area of the Marais and this is my favourite part of Paris. The hotel is really close to the Metropolitan underground system and is on a line that seems to be easy to connect to any other line from!! We didn't eat at the hotel as we spent most of our time out and about as you might imagine. However we were back late one night and brought back some pizzas from a nearby shop and the maids didn't take away the rubbish. That was a bit bizarre. I would almost certainly go back to this hotel the next time I am in Paris.
“Would definitely go back”
Greathotel, good location, Metro round the corner. Service was great. Staf were very polite and nice at all times.
“Quiet comfort and pleasant locality”
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable, quiet rooms. Good location - near Place de la Bastille and Place des Vosges. The Marais is just as interesting as any other area of Paris and less packed with tourists. It is possible to walk into the other central areas (along the Seine or via Places des Vosges and the Pompidou Centre) or travel by Metro (usually at the end of a hard days' sightseeing) and St Sebastien Froissart station is less than 100m away. Good variety of restaurants nearby (e.g Bofinger, Cafe Hugo in Places des Vosges) and a surprising variety of shops selling everything from ancient musical instruments to Harley Davidsons. The piano bar next door does excellent breakfasts.
“Amazing”
From the moment we entered the hotel, we were blown away with what stood before us. Th staff couldn't have been more helpful - very poilte and when we were escorted across the courtyard we were amazed with the tranquil setting! The rooms were a decent size for Paris and you had everything you needed inside. Very convenient location as right near Metro station! Just an overall amazing trip
“Paris 2011 - Les Jardins du Marais”
Getting my family and friends together is difficult when everyone has different holiday allowance and nobody's ever free at the same time so when I finally got the one and only date we could all do I was pleasantly surprised to find what looked like a good deal at a 4 star hotel on the edge of our preferred area, the Marais. It was indeed 1 minute from the Metro (St Sebastien Froissart) as stated and lived up to the images on its' website...alligators, bamboo, 70's swing chairs, textile pebbles and all! My only issue would be that the front of house knowledge of the area was lacking when it came to advice on eating locally. (It's not entirely their fault as the whole of Paris conspires to exclude vegetarians and the economy's current inflation rate has hiked up prices too!) That being said they were excellent at everything else, especially the all important storing of luggage on our arrival and departure. We all loved our suite style rooms and they gave us a room linked to our daughter's without being asked and our friends 3 doors down also without it being requested. The courtyard gardens gave the place an air of a resort with just the swimming pool missing and I'm a sucker for '70's Art Deco-esque' decoration. The beds were well sprung, the room spotless and staff were always very polite and pleasant so the positives far outweight the few negatives. I 'd happily recommend Les Jardins du Marais to anyone needing comfort away from home and a good base for sightseeing.
“Excellent hotel”
We were travelling with 2 children aged 11 and 14 and wanted a family room which would provide sufficient space. The junior suite was perfect for our needs. We even had a fridge and a small amount of crockery. We found eating out in Paris to be quite expensive, especially the soft drinks. The facilities meant that we could cheaply purchase breakfast and the occasional dinner in one of the local shops and then just eat in our room. The room and bathroom were nicely decorated and very clean. All the bedrooms are located around a very nice and secure courtyard - the boys particularly loved sitting out in the swinging chairs! All the reception staff spoke English and were very helpful. The location of the hotel was great too - literally one minute from the Metro. I chose this hotel because of the reviews written by others so I hope you find this helpful and enjoy your stay as much as we did.
“Great escape from busy streets of central Paris”
Hotel web informs that St-Sebastein Froissart is the closest metro station. We actually never used it! Very close to Filles du Calvaire metro, also not far from Richard Lenoir and/or Oberkamf which is only 5 stops from Gare du Nord (Eurostar terminal)!!! Next block on the same road has a supermarket to buy refreshments etc! Near the hotel two nice bars, one pizza place, a chinese restaurant, a cafe' that serves brekafast and an italian style bar. The room in Eifferl block is narrow but long comparing to other rooms in Paris with sink, fridge, dishwasher, small table and very comfy armchair to have a quick bite/rest ! Def check Fashion TV on the channels available free. Location is amazin 1 minute from my favourite Marais and beginning of trendy rue Oberkamf a bit of walk to most bars/cafes'/restaurnats but on the way check Ave Maria great brazilian restaurant/bar! Check the boulangerie on the main road oppossite Filles du Calvaire metro entrances you can get amazing croissants, baguettes, desserts and kisch lorraines!
