The hotel was in a fantastic location, less than a minute walk to the metro station, surrounded by several eateries and shops. The hotel itself was lovely.
However, we purposefully booked a hotel with aircon during our summer stay. We stayed on 4 of the hottest days of the year, when the heat reached 40’ and the aircon didn’t work the whole time. We went down to reception for updates on it being fixed and we kept being told ‘tomorrow’. Our room was at the front of the property in a very busy area and it was quite loud outside during the night so we couldn’t have our windows open to cool down. When you’ve had long days of seeing a city you hope to get back to your hotel and have a good nights rest, this was impossible and really impacted our trip.
We asked staff if we could move rooms to be away from the main road so we could open windows, we got the same ‘tomorrow’ response, but when we approached the subject the next day, it didn’t happen. We weren’t supplied with fans or helped in any way.
There was also no hot water so had to bathe in freezing cold water…. Which maybe doesn’t seem so bad because of the weather…. But hot and cold water facilities are a standard anywhere you go.
Unsure if we would stay here again, maybe this was an isolated issue, but the way the staff didn’t seem to want to help …. we didn’t feel valued as customers.
