“pleasantly surprised,would use again”
We found this to be one of the cheapest hotels in Paris, but was very good for a 2 star. Our room was cleaned each day and had a modern bathroom. The staff were pleasant and helpful ,speaking English. We would certainly use it again.
“Great location but a very basic hotel”
We have just returned from Paris having had a great week in the city. The location of the hotel was good, although the roads leading up to Pigalle are quite "dodgy". Walk out of the hotel to the right and down the hill and it is a different matter and you find yourself in a very pleasant area. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful but the rooms are very small and have a number of faults. We asked to be moved on the first day as the room was not big enough to swing a hamster let alone a cat! The entrance to the hotel is very off-putting with several large boxes in the reception area, and a general sense of tiredness in the furniture. The internet is not easy to access, and the room we stayed in had broken things in the bathroom and minimal space to put your clothes. Saying that, the (very simple) breakfast was served with friendliness each morning, and the beds were comfortable. OK for a night or two but don't expect any frills. Take your own travel kettle and tea/coffee as there are no brewing up facilities in the room. Ok too if you like the colour orange which is splashed liberally around the building. Good restaurants locally although we felt the bar opposite Pile Poele was ok for a drink but very overpriced for food.
“Just a room for the night, don't expect more”
The room was rather on the small side, so was the en suite toilet. The heaters did not work every day. The staff only helped you when you asked for help. Breakfast was a typical French breakfast which was baguettes, coffee & orange juice, no meat. It is located in the red light district of Paris, but I have no problems with this because I only need a room in Paris. The locals did not bother you at night in Montmarte. In essence the price was advantageous which was why I booked it, but if you want some luxury when you come to Paris, please look elsewhere. If you are on a budget, then this is what you can expect.
“Hotel St Georges Lafayette”
Well located for the areas of Paris we most wanted and for general tourism, especially for Montmartre.
“Not good”
The location of this hotel is convenient, close to a metro station. But the neighborhood is full of adult shops. The staff are nice, but they don't lock doors of your rooms after they tidied up the place... And they have no liability to anything lost or stolen in the room... So make sure you don't put anything expensive in the room. The hotel isn't a grand one. Its ok if you stay there for one or two nights.
“Good budget hotel friendly would go back here”
A small budget hotel 4 mins walk from a metro station. Basic but clean with a very friendly staff. Rooms were on suite with a television but no water boiling facilities. Towels changed each day with soap and shampoo provided. All required facilities nearby and central Paris within walking distance. Ideal as a base to see the city but a little cramped if you want to stay in the room for long periods. I would use again as the base for a city tour.
“Get what you pay for!”
Location was excellent. Booked a double bed but instead was given room with 2 single beds placed together, that kept sliding apart throughout the night. The rooms are too small for even two people to stay. Suitable for a backpacking youth but couples and families should look elsewhere based on convinence and what’s consider appropriate for their kids. The hotel rooms are very small. We practically bumped into each other as we tried to move around. Could not recharge video camera as power adaptor could not be used due to "security" pin inserted into power point. Hotel stated they would obtain a suitable adaptor but this only materialised on the last night of our stay. Could not use video camera on entire trip. My wife was also very disapointed as she could not use hair dryer. Breakfast was ok. No air conditioning and no fan; heater tempermental.
“hotel cheaper tahn others”
the service is correct, and the hotel is clean
“good for price”
The hotel was basic but very clean. The "shower"s pressure was sadly lacking as we were on the third floor. Also on our 3rd night of 5 both heaters in the room stopped working (not ideal in October). However apart from those 2 things we found it fitting for the price we paid and the staff were very helpful. They spoke English too when we struggled with our French :) Overall we found the hotel comfortable and quiet and most importantly clean!!
“average hotel”
Double room turned out to be 2 single beds pushed together with a double sheet over the top. room was a bit cramped but the position of the hotel was excellent- staff didn't speak very good english though
