“Charming hotel in excellent location”
From the moment we arrived at the hotel on Monday afternoon until we left yesterday (Thursday), we had nothing but praise for the helpfulness of the staff, especially Thomas, who was charming & willing to help in any way that he could. Our room was spotless & the beds so comfortable we didn't want to get up! The position of the hotel Le Littre was amazing - so central & easy to get to anywhere in Paris, either by Metro or by bus, yet so quiet & peaceful at night. There were plenty of restaurants around within a short walking distance, & if you weren't booked in for breakfast just around the corner was an excellent coffee & croissant shop. We would recommend that anyone visiting the hotel for the first time & arriving byMetro gets off at Saint Placide rather than Montparnasse, which is rather a rabbit warren of different ways to take out of the station. This was an excellent break, well organised by Expedia & we would certainly use this hotel again.
“Le Littre”
Comfortable. Friendly staff.
“Very dirty and smelled horrible!”
My hotel room smelled horrible! The carpet and bedspread were filthy and I asked that the bedspread be removed from the room. I purchased air freshner just to cover the smells. The pipes were extremely noisy and I could hear everything from the bathroom above me. Would not stay at this hotel again! Not at all a four star hotel!!!!!
“Would return”
Exceeded my expectations. Big bathroom, clean, restaurants and bakeries around the corner, courteous staff. My only negatives were no wi-fi in room and hard bed.
“Another great Paris experience”
Just back from fourth visit to Paris with Expedia. Can't fault the experience. Flights on time, hotel good quality in a central area close to transport for sightseeing and shopping etc. Paris never fails me, and I recommend it to everyone.
“Will definitely return!”
We loved this hotel and would recommend it to our family and friends.
“Good not great”
Competent and friendly desk staff. Relatively large rooms for Paris. Nothing special about the decor or ambience. A functional but commercial neighborhood. In sum: a good, practical, cost effective choice but not one you're going to remember the rest of your life.
“Excellent Location, great for first time”
We stayed here in Apr 2010, it being our first time to Paris, i did a bit of research on which area is best to stay in on various websites etc and this looked to be in a good location...which it was it is on a quiet street just off a lively bubbling main street with lots of choices of bars, cafes and restaurants, and is placed ideally to explore all Paris' tourist sites either by the nearby Metro or by a nice walk through the city. i would highly recommend both the area and the hotel, whose staff were friendly, spoke English and were happy to store our luggage for us on check in and after check out.
“Lovely hotel close to Metro”
Location was v good - close to the Metro so easy access to other areas of Paris within 10 minutes. Great breakfast in lovely surrounds. Would be better still if there was tea and coffee faciliies in the room and an iron although there was an ironing area set up in a cupboard on the first floor. We would use this hotel again.
“A comfortable, convenient and charming base from which to explore Paris”
I stayed at the Hotel Littre in January 2010 with my wife and 18 month old daughter. On our arrival check-in was very smooth and staff were on hand to take our luggage to our room. A travel cot was provided as requested ahead of our arrival, although we would have had to ask for linen for it had we not provided our own. We stayed in a Deluxe Room and, other than a little additional space for a seating area there is very little noticable difference to a standard room which we stayed in back in 2002. Whilst the rooms are not as modern as some hotels, they are - as other reviewers have said - adequate. A good, charming and comfortable base for exploring the city. The hotel is located within 2 minutes of Montparnesse Bienvenue Metro station as is approximately 20 minutes (by Metro) from Gare Du Nord for those using Eurostar. Be warned however that access from the platform to street level does have many stairs (as we found with a toddler, pushchair and two suitcases in tow!). Also, a slight trivia point: the Rue Littre (the street on which the hotel is situated) is mentioned in the Frederick Forsyth novel "The Day of the Jackal" so anyone familiar with the book will be able to get a grounding as to its setting.
