“Xmas”
Great location. However the hotel need a bit of LTC
“Mixed reveiw good and bad”
Superb location - sadly on arrival room not made and room with double bed not delivered - or tea making facilities or fridge - compensated by a free breakfast. Could do better. Some staff lovely others not so helpful.
“not a 3 star hotel”
Deceiving name, the France Louvre it's accross the street from the Hotel De Ville not the Louvre, maybe it should be called Paris De Louvre. The name is very similar to the upscale Hotel Louvre and should not be confused. Breakfast is very expensive at 12.50 Euros. Tiny towels, old sheets and disgusting blankets and dirty rugs. Think about it twice before staying here.
“Haven't even checked in yet, but...”
definitely a quirky hotel. my wife and i arrived in france a few hours ago (8:00 AM), got to the TINY front desk and were told that check in is only at 2:00 PM- which is not ideal, but not a deal breaker either. the lady at the front desk gave us a 'key' and told us we could store our bags there till check in time. the 'baggage storage' area is actually a 2'x2' nook where everyone is expected to pile their bags on top of each other. we had 3 bags that took me 20 minutes to arrange into this 'closet.' so far, the experience has been just that- i'm not sure i'd recommend anyone to necessarily stay here (although i haven't seen the rooms, but based on the size of everything, i'm not expecting much) unless you want to not spend too much money on your trip. will have to update my review after we check in...in 3 more hours :(
“Not quite the worst ever”
We've stayed in worse hotels, but not many. The grimy, torn awning over the door would have warned us, but we we'd already been taken in by the website photos of a classy, cave-like breakfast room. In reality: it's on a busy street (although in a convenient Marais location); narrow, narrow, dark hallways; a cramped lobby (about 5 feet wide, 3 feet of which are taken up by the front desk); tiny rooms with no walking space; badly in need of fresh paint; and a staff who wish they were somewhere else. If you've seen the movie Brazil, you'll have a sense of the atmosphere at the France Louvre. This is a 2-star hotel—maybe—but certainly not a 3-star. I found Rick Steves's recommendations for Paris to be much better than the collective wisdom of the crowd.
“not nearly the best, BUT..........”
this is a very small neighborhood Marais hotel (request a room to the back as it sits on the Rue de Rivoli) but the location cannot be beat. Staff very helpful but rooms are micro tiny. When you walk out the door, Paris is at your fingertips. Close to everything. They rate this as a 3 star hotel, is more like 1 star. Breakfast buffet so-so, but with the negatives aside, will definitely stay here again. If your looking for frills, this is NOT the place for you.
“Ido not go back”
If yoiu do not mind being in and ugly place ,with old carpets and broken things.. You can stayy there
“Shabby”
One learns not to expect too much of hotels in Paris and this is no exception. Great location but tired room and bathroom. A medocre budget hotel at best.
“Fab location, shame about the hotel”
The location of this hotel on the Rue de Rivoli was absolutely fantastic, a very short walk from Beauborg, Marais, The Seine, and everything you could possibly need to be close to in Paris. Unfortunately, the standard of the hotel was very poor. The entrance to the hotel is tiny, the lift barely held 2 people, and our room was very very small, and smelled funny. There was someone elses hair on our beds, the carpets were dirty, the room smelt damp and musty, and the bathroom was falling apart...the shower head was broken and only pointed down at our feet, the toilet was cracked and flushed through the night, the hairdryer didn't work, the heating in the room just blew out cold air and overall it felt like it needed a freshen up and overhaul. We didn't try the breakfast during our stay, but the breakfast room looked nice and was bright and airy. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again, but would definitely stay somewhere closeby as the location was brilliant.
“Comfy bed with the sounds of a drip!”
It was a typical small hotel. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable but our bathroom had a pipe leak. Front desk may speak English but were not helpful when we tried to find out about the RER being closed for construction. They should be aware of those issues for a traveler. Personally would not stay at this hotel again.
