This was, for us, the perfect hotel. The metro stop is down the block and around the corner. There are bakeries and restaurants nearby. There is a laundromat in the same block.
The staff at the front desk were wonderful! They helped with my rotten pronunciations, provided suggestions and advice, and did all they could to make our time in Paris enjoyable.
The room was small, and the shower (no tub) was small... but that was absolutely expected for an inner city hotel. Everything was clean. The bathroom was recently remodeled, and the room furnishings seemed new. The hallway was a bit worn down, as was the elevator, but since I only walked through those areas, it didn't matter.
My best comparison for this hotel; imagine visiting New York City, but choosing to stay in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan. You get all the charm and character of a neighborhood in Paris, at a better price. Everything you wish to see and do as a tourist is only a metro ride away.
