“Hotel Bellevue Montmartre”
Small hotel, rooms need updating, no bar or restaurant. However, fantastic situation right in the middle of Montmartre on a quiet road. Breakfast in morning was a good french breakfast with plenty of bread and croissants! Would recommend to anyone who wants to be in the Montmartre area and on a budget.
“"Stereotypical" European Hotel - double not suited for 2 people”
It's stereotypical because the room was very small and amenities pretty much non-existent. For two people it is impossible to walk inside of the hotel room without hoping over the bed. The hallway door next to our room was stuck so we had to shove it at entrance and exit. I asked for a pen once and they couldn't find it, ever. It was a problem to chose whether or not to have our room cleaned. We requested a double bed and got two twins with a huge crack in the middle. The bathroom was super tiny and the shower "quarter circle" doors didn't close. Only one person speaks english at this hotel so trying to express was difficult - not recommended for anyone not speaking french fluently. This hotel is rated at 3 stars but doesn't have any of the amenities. We tried to cancel some days of our 8 day stay because we found 3 star hotels closer to the center of Montmatre for less than 100 euros that looked leaps better than this hotel. On the plus side we were only a block away from a cafe and about two from Anvers metro station.
“Decent”
Best price I could find (with the sale they had). Elevator has a strange feeling. Not A/C so it can get really hot. Seems that the room isn't veyr well cleaned, not that they leave it dirty, just feels like they do basic cleaning. But really nothing to say that was negative. Can't comment on the continental bfast because I was awake for 33 hours so didn't wake up on time for it. I can recommend it, if your just looking for a basic place to rest.
“Too basic for a 3star rating. Clean but not comfortable”
The reason I am not going to be too rude about this hotel is that the staff were helpful and the room was clean. Otherwise the accommodation was too basic and frankly uncomfortable to justify 3 stars. On my stay the hotel had the atmosphere a youth hostel with American teenagers, carrying on in the corridors and slamming every door they passed through between the hours of 11pm and 3 am. Rather than frog march them to the nearest finishing school or curb their exuberance the hotel should have had softeners on the doors to stop the noise. That little touch would have gone a long way. That is my problem with the place no expense spent, at all, anywhere for the comfort and joy of the customer; no complimentary tea/coffee in the room, only analogue/non digital telly so there was, for instance, no international news channel, (French telly almost the most dire in Europe but not quite when there's still Italian) un-cosy blankets wrapped in sheets instead of duvets. This is what I'd expect from a 1star or 2star not a 3star. On the plus side the location was perfect for my trip and I was able to walk everywhere with ease including to and from the Gard du Nord.
“Only stay here as a last resort!”
The room was a fair size, everything was outdated, our "king" size bed was 2 smaller beds put together, and the mattresses kept moving apart. The beds were uncomfortable, the pillows were very thin. The bathroom was OK. The shower head was broken and it made it quite difficult to shower. The entire room looked like it was from a motel in the 70's, and was a lot worse than we expected since it was a 3 STAR! The cleaning staff came early both mornings that we were there before we were even out of our room. In my honest opinion, it should be rated as a 1 Star with a private bathroom. On a good note, there was free wireless, and the staff was nice. I do not recommend this place, unless you are on a very tight budget.
“Nice cosy place with good service but not worth full price”
The room was typical for europe with small features and a view of buildings close by. My girlfriend and I stayed at this place in beggining of summer and were quite satisfied with the hotel based on the price we paid on expedia. Howerver, when we tried to extend our stay the price and miraculously trippled and it was definatly no longer worth the added cost. Its a good budget hotel.
“Could have done better for the room”
It's affordable for basic travellers. If they put plasma on wall and wall mounted folding table underneath TV so gives plenty of rooms for luggages, wall mounted coat hanger so can put fridge underneath it and if Twins, get rid of small tables next to bed and one desk in between beds for those with lap tops. Charge a bit more if with Wi Fi facility in each room because its location is handy & convinience, ie Restaurants, Cafes, Metros, Buses and Entertainments, Laundry, Post Office . And the staff are helpful & friendly.
“very small, not that comfortable”
I had to book my room b/c I was in a bind [I was supposed to stay with a friend, but her plane from out of town was delayed]. The neighborhood's great and it's pretty convenient to the metro, but the room was very small, the bed was not that comfortable, and the hotel itself was rather loud~~I heard every conversation and door open and close, it seemed, in the entire hotel. It was *fine* but it certainly does not deserve a three-star rating.
“Location was excellent!”
This hotel was in very good location.
“Great place to stay on a budget.”
We stayed for just one night on a short Eurostar Trip. It was perfect, right by Montmartre and close to the metro station and local restaurants. It wouldn't be ideal for 3 or 4 nights because the room was a bit small, but more than comfortable for our purpose. Definite recommendation if you're staying in this hotel for one or two nights on a budget.
