OK for 1 night, but avoid if possible

Posted 02-Jul-2014
Pros: The room safe was big enough to easily get my laptop in it. The bathroom looked like it had recently been renovated it was very bright and clean.
Cons: The should change the bed linens between customers. I informed them of the issues with the shower and window so hopefully they have taken care of it.
Location: Moulin Rouge is only a couple of blocks away and it is maybe a 15 min walk, uphill, to Sacre Coeur. Many small restaurants in the vicinity
The room I was put into was big enough for 1 person, but 2 would have been crowded. The room was warm when I got there so I opened the window for a lovely view of a open air maintenance area. There was a room window on the other side of the area as well so if the window was left open unattended during the day or at night then it is possible someone could come across the area easily and enter the room. The shower fixture in the bathroom was loose on the wall and I had to put most of my weight against the window to lock it closed. A small person would have a lot of trouble getting the window closed. The walls are thin and I could hear much of went on in nearby rooms. The bed cover had a lot of hair on it, but other than that the room looked clean. Very narrow hallways force you to turn sideways when passing others. The entry to the 3 rooms on my end of the hotel was very small. If someone was locking or unlocking their room then you had to wait until they were done and moved out of the entryway to get out of or enter your room

Pros: VERY clean! Close to 3 metro stations which made getting around Paris a breeze. Right in the heart of Montmartre so it's close to sights like the Moulin Rouge, Sacré Couer, and tonnes of other little interesting things. Con: VERY small hotel room, the bed took up 80% of the space and the washroom was more like a closet, but honestly for the price I paid I can't complain about it, and the cleanliness and amazing location of the hotel MORE than made up for the tiny space. Plus, if you're in Paris you're not going to be spending much time in your hotel anyways because there is so much to see and do! Also, the front desk staff were very kind and helpful! One of them helped me figure out how to take the train to Versailles for a day trip! They don't speak very good English though, just enough to get by.

This is a very simple hotel. The biggest problem with it is that the walls aren't sound prof( you wake up with your neighbours and have to hear them fight.) The location is very good and nice.

Clean 2*, excellent location

The location in Montmatre was exellent - very convenient for this nice neighbourhood and fine for metro to the rest of the city. We even managed to walk there (20mins) from Gare du Nord. The hotel itself is fairly basic and a little tatty round the edges as one would expect from a 2* but everything worked and it was perfectly clean. We didn't try their breakfast but price-wise it seemed like good value compared to eating the same things in a nearby cafe.

Nice neighbourhood and decent hotel room

The location is great, close to Sacre Couer and Pigalle, plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops around. The hotel was clean and simple equipped. Most annoyingly was the noise from outside during the night caused by a vent hole in both windows that could not be closed (room 27). If possible request a room facing the smaller and quieter side street Audran instead of the noisy main street. Furthermore we could not turn of the heating as the heating control was broken. The bed was okay for few nights but rather small for 2 people and there was only a single light summer blanket with no proper cover but a thin sheet between. Other than that the staff was friendly and helpful, the bathroom clean and the TV working.

Convenient location

Second time I have stayed in February. Main benefit is its location which is handy for : Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur, Place Teatre and Montmartre Cemetery. Lots of shops and cafes on the doorstep. The Hotel is basic but very clean bedroom and modern shower/toilet facilities. Did have a problem with the basin plug so reported it to the cleaner. Only stayed three nights so it was unsolved before I left. The Staff are pleasant and helpful. The rooms are very close to each other but this year noise was at a minimum. Would go back.

loved the stay at Hotel Audran

Very nice hotel, looked newly renovated (in fact the stairs were still being worked on, but were usable as an alternative to the elevator). Room was clean, exactly as expected (small but comfy, clean bathroom in the room, fresh towels, tv, wi-fi, safe). Staff was also very friendly, helpful and reliable, ready to help with local phone calls, information and everything else we needed. Location is pretty good, close to 2 subway stations on different lines, so there are many options for getting anywhere. 5 minute walk to Moulin Rouge, also walking distance to Sacre-Coeur. Several cafes and restaurants within a 1 minute walk. Good hotel in general, and awesome considering the price - would surely stay there again.

Good Location but I would never stay here again

The cleaning people do a bad job of cleaning. On our first day there it was toothpaste and hair in the sink from the people the morning before we checked in. I didn't complain only because we had a long flight and I was tired and wanted to do nothing but take a nap. So I used my own Lysol wipes to clean the bathroom myself. However, the sheets were clean from what I could see. The WiFi is the worse. Bad connection and slow. No AC and I was charged for breakfast for the whole week when I thought the breakfast was free. Whether it was free or not I never ate any of the breakfast. Once I stopped to get juice but nothing else the entire week. Also the beds are uncomfortable. But the room color was nice and they at least had a cheap shuttle to the airport. I was so glad to get back to my comfortable clean home!
