“Loved it!”

I thought the hotel was lovely. Very comfortable. Very convenient to the Eiffel Tower. Not so close to the other attractions. Lots of antiques in this area. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

“Stylish Parisian Boutique Hotel”

I knew that this wasn't your typical tourist trap hotel when the taxi driver didn't have a clue as to where it was. And in Paris, this is a very good thing. The Ares Eiffel may be a few blocks from Paris' most iconic landmark, but it feels like your own little pied a terre. It is set back on a very quiet street yet only a block from restaurants, shopping and Metro. The lobby was tasteful and intimate, exactly how at least this traveler would imagine a small hotel lobby should be. My room on the sixth floor was simply top notch. Very tastefully decorated, most modern of bathroom design, thoughtful and fully adjustable lighting scheme, highest end amenities (Hermes!), need I go on? The place felt rock solid, and with my view onto a small courtyard far below, I really couldn't hear a peep from outside the room. I recommend this hotel unreservedly.

Area recommendations

Rue Cler. One transfer to Gard Nord train station and the airport. Great neighborhood off the beaten path with fine local dining. If you're into the nightlife and trendy aspects of Paris, then this is probably not the place for you, but if you're a businessman or family, then the close but not too close aspect might fit you as well as it does me.

“Can't wait to go back”

Great hotel, quiet neighborhood, short walk to metro and shops. Large bathrooms. You can see the top of the Eiffel Tower from the street and your room . Staff very friendly and helpful. Owner and his wife extremely nice. Very clean and well kept. Rooms confortable and large. Will go back again, and again.

Area recommendations

15th District. Because of the parks, friendly neighborhoods and people, close to the Eiffel Tower.

When to go

We were there in October 2011. The weather is cooler but not cold and it was less crowded.

Getting around

I had purchased through Expedia a 5 day pass for the Metro and we used everywhere we went. It was quick and easy because we were about 5 minutes walk from the metro station.

Dining

We elected to eat some of our meals at Mom and Pop restaurants, bakeries, and street vendors. The food was abundant and delicious. We even went to a Parisian market and bought wine and cheese to snack on in our room.

Events and shows

On one outing we stumbled on a Antique Fair on the left bank and had fun looking at the antiques and talking with the locals. We took a trip to the Beaches at Normandy and it was a real tear jerker.

“Great slice of Paris.”

We bundled our flights with Hotel Ares and it was a great choice! The room was tiny but enough for our needs. The bedspread, curtins, bathroom were all fresh modern looking but keeping it feel like Paris, the window opens for a tiny balcony but helps make the room feel bigger. Very close to the Eiffel Tower, train station and heaps of restaurant / bakery options. Make sure you study a map before finding the place as it could easily be missed! Would definately stay again.

Area recommendations

Must see the Eiffel Tower! Take the train to Bastille I think it was that has markets on every Thursday and Sunday, lots of food and clothing that was very well priced. Head to BD de grenelle and turn right a Patisserie with pink front was great value and croissant and chocolat tart were amazing!

“Highly recommend”

We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Ares Eiffel. The room was beautifully appointed and very clean, and the staff were most helpful. Most importantly, the street noise was minimal, so we always managed to get a good night's rest. For us, the location was great. There's much to do and see in the 7th arr., and there's a Metro station a block or so away if you wish to venture out. Overall, we were very happy with the hotel.
