“Good hotel close to the parks, Disney prices”
Overall, a good hotel. Not cheap, but that is Disneyland Paris for you. My wife and 4 year old granddaughter stayed at Hotel New York in late September 2011. The room had 2 double beds, old fashioned CRT TV and mini-bar. The beds are not well suited for a small child. All was looking clean and in good condition. Overall, the room was comfortable. It takes about 10 min to reach either Disney Studio or Disneyland Park on foot. Free busses run frequently to the train station (less than 10’ on foot). We checked in midweek and the wait was short, but there was a very long queue on the Saturday. During the week the number of guests was manageable; on Saturday the crowds got visibly denser. One just wonders what happens during the school holidays. Breakfast (buffet) was good, plentiful and catered for most tastes - except for the coffee machines. Dispensing powdered milk into the coffee in a 4* hotel is just unacceptable. We had a time slot allocated, but still had to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated, due to capacity of the restaurant. Staff were welcoming and helpful. One nice aspect of the service was photo opportunities with Mickey Mouse and some of the other Disney characters every morning. Goofy was particularly charming and amusing. To summarise, a good hotel which I would recommend to anyone that wants to see Disneyland Paris and wants to be comfortably close to the parks.
“Excellent hotel”
Wanted to do something exclusive for my daughter's birthday, so booked this hotel for one night. It is slightly pricey but the experience was great. would definitely recommend for a lovely experience.
“all that money and you don't even get a kettle/tea/coffee in your room”
Clean everywhere. Swimming pool was nice but there were no family changing rooms. We got up early (you have to tell them what time you want breakfast when you check in) to take advantage of the early-opening of the parks, otherwise we would not have fitted it all in. When we arrived there was a travel cot in the room - for my 2 year old son ! They said they had no other room to swop, offered no apology but said they'd bring a bed up. When we got back from the parks 5 hours later, the cot was still in the room. Very expensive - we had 1 pint and 1 Martini & Lemonade in the bar - it came to over 14 euro's. Excellent location - would stay here again.
“A bit tatty but still a wonderful experience”
The hotel is very nice, and without a doubt convenient. There were some minor maintenance issues that affected aesthetics rather than comfort or safety. In the bathroom, the phone on the wall was not working (you could hear the mechanism inside ratlling). One of the pictures on the wall was falling out of its matting. Some of the light bulbs were burned out. However, none of the problems was significant enough to call the desk. Breakfast is very satisfying, and has most anything that you could want on the buffet. The eggs are horrid, but there are cold cuts/cheese, fruit, yogurt, viennoiserie, sausages, cereal, juice, etc. to make up for that. We did not use most of the hotel facilities, but many people were enjoying the ice skating rink and indoor pool.
“Don't pay the four star cost to stay at Disney's NewYork Hotel it is not four star.”
The breakfast in Disney 's NewYork was tastey and plentiful but I did not expect in a four star hotel to have a plastic bowl for my cereal and be seated so close to the people at the next table that it was difficult to get to the buffet without constantly having to excuse myself to get past. The rooms were very "tired" in appearance with chipped woodwork, stained wallpaper and soft furnishings and carpets that were needing to be replaced. Two double beds were in fact one kingsized bed and one double sofa bed. The bar in the Hotel was staffed by some very pleasant waiters and was more in keeping with what we expect if we are paying four star prices. I would not recomend this Hotel to anyone as the cost of staying there is much too high for the standard the Hotel providing at the moment. They seemed more interested in the conferences that were being held there at the same time, I am sure they did not have to eat their breakfast in the same canteen type facilities as we did. I know that it is American Diner in theme but I have eaten in many American diners and still had room to breath. The staff I have to say however were very pleasant. Minney and Mickey were often around to meet with visitors, times were posted for this.
“Thoroughly enjoyable stay!”
Check-in was very quick (we even checked-in an hour early.) The staff were polite and helpful, the room was clean and spacious and the hotel was better located than we had hoped. It was a ten minute 'stroll' to the parks and a two minute walk to Disney Village for all the restaurants and shops. Breakfast was very adequate (hot and cold options) and never too busy to be uncomfortable. The pool area was great and the bar/lounge offered a vast selection of drinks that took care of the nightcap! All in all, a great stay and we will definitely go back on our next Disneyland Paris trip!
“Most convenient and affordable hotel”
Was well greeted when we arrived at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and everyone spoke English which did not allow me to practise my French at all!! We had our bed linen and towels changed every morning which was a very nice special touch. Could have done with more of a variety of channels on the TV for when we returned to relax back in the evenings. The best part of the day was the breakfast which was excellent. There was a large range of selection which the children thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel was located right next to the parks so it took just minutes to arrive there in the morning and we used our special privileges of fastpass to get on rides. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come again.
“Nice hotel, convenient location”
I enjoyed my stay at Disney's Hotel New York. The location is great just on the edge of Disney village and across that are Disney's two parks. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. the only disadvantage was the early checkout time at 1100 hrs.
“Not Impressed”
The hotel is too big and our room to far frolm the lobby
“Welcomed Relief”
We had spent 12 days on a tour across Europe. We were so happy to arrive at the Hotel New York, as it was comparable to a 'typical US Hotel room'. Comfortable Bed, spacious room, nice view. The staff even accommodated my request for 'one large bed'. There was a bit of a language barrier and staff seemed to have some challenges understanding our 'US English'. But by this point in the trip we were used to it. The pool is very kid-friendly - but not a place to relax for adults. Lots of characters - I ran into Goofy on three separate occasions in the hallways.
