“Great location”
The hotel is located in a busy area with a lot of night life. Try to get a room at the back if you want quiet nights.
“Lots Going On”
This stay was unbelieveable. They had to caulk the shower because it was dripping into the room below. The ceiling in the bathroom had to be painted on the day I was out for the entire day. I was concerned about the odor the paint would leave. The rug in the room was filthy! I took a picture of the socks I used in the room. The socks were only worn in the room and were black after an eighteen night stay. I could see large things on the rug and had to ask to have it vacuumed. The garbage can was under a chair and difficult to reach. If I missed the can, items were not picked up for several days, if at all. I tried to be real careful when I threw things out. The sink and shower were together in what must have been a closert. Very, very tight space. The sink was almost flush against the shower doors. The toilet was on the other side of the room in an extremely small closet space. The door could not open all the way as it would hit the desk. Also, I could not close the door where the toilet was as my knees got in the way. The man and woman on the day shift at the desk were helpfu.
“Not a great hotel but cheap and in a good location”
This hotel is not great, the room was really tiny, tiny shower and toilet looked like it was in a cupboard in the wall! The bed was also tiny and uncomfortable. Decor was old and a bit scruffy. I had two issues, there was no hairdryer in the room and second that the circuit breaker for the lights tripped. Both times the guy on reception didn't understand what I was saying but rather than telling me he didn't understand he left me waiting around for half an hour and then told me it would be sorted the next day. I had to show him the problem in the end. He also promised to bring me a hairdryer after 20 mins but never turned up. Having said that, the location is excellent, there are loads of great and very reasonably priced restaurants and cafe's close by. The metro is also very close by. I would only recommend the hotel on the basis of its location.
“Good Location”
Hotel is in a good location, with Metro one block away, many restaurants very close by and Notre Dame and Louvre within walking distance (<30 mins). Seemed like a safe neighborhood. We had a room at the rear, so it was quiet. Room was small, like many in Paris, and needed new curtains, wallpaper etc, but the room was basically clean. One problem was that, since many people smoke, it seemed that smoke from another room was coming into the room through the heating vent. Breakfast in the hotel was expensive - it was easy to walk down the street and find a nice brasserie where breakfast was much cheaper.
“A week at the Comfort Hotel Mouffetard”
The Comfort Hotel Mouffetard is located in Paris' 5th district behind the Sorbonne and within an easy walk to the metro. My room was very clean and the maid service was excellent. The hotel's breakfast at 12 euros is horribly overpriced for cornflakes and coffee. Fortunately there are numerous cafes on Mouffetard that provide a good breakfast for 6 euros. I was disappointed that the hotel staff was unable to give me any assistance in using an international telephone card that I purchased at a nearby tobacco shop. I have used these cards for years and never had a problem. Their response was that I charge the calls to my room. I thought that they could have at least tried the card to see if it worked.
“good with no frills”
Good hotel, wtih efficient service. The room was ok - nothing good nothing bad about it. It's a really good deal if you need to be in that part of Paris and don't want to go to a luxury hotel.
“Great Location”
A great hotel if you like the Latin quarter and staying up late. Not so good if you turn in early - Rue Mouffetard is very busy until the small hours. Staff extremely helpful.
“Brilliant position!”
This hotel is so ideally situated for touring Paris. It is a very short walk to the nearest metro/bus stop. You are already in the Latin Quarter which is a thriving area of bars and restaurants. We had a room on the 5th floor(509) at the back which had a lovely view over the rooftops..you could even see the Pantheon. It was extremely quiet and we slept like logs.
“Noisy area but clean”
It's very clean but it's in a very young, late-night area of Paris. This is good if you want food late or that's your scene but I'd ask for a room that doesn't overlook Mouffetard as mine did. Also there was some truck or something that came around at 6 am each morning that was VERY loud and stayed around 10-15 minutes. Again, request a room NOT facing the street. My wifi was in and out, not sure at what end lied the problem but I couldn't get any work done. No A/C so windows will be open and there's a fan. I didn't have a problem with that but had it been just a bit hotter it would have been sweltering. However, it was VERY clean, the bathroom was spotless so for that reason I'd recommend it. Expect tiny rooms, this is Paris.
“Rooms too small”
We are expeienced travellers who understand that European hotel rooms are not as big as US hotels. However, our room (# 44) should have been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for small size. Hotel photos are misleading. Pity, the location is otherwise very pleasant.
