“Great location and rates.”
Spent six nights, room was a little on the small side compared to most American/Australian hotel sizes, but still comfortable and charming. Our twin bed was two singles pushed together, but I had no problems with that. Room was clean, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Great location, close to metro, St Micheal's fountain, and lots of amazing restaurants. Affordable compared to a lot of hotels in the area, in a quiet area too which is priceless after a day of walking around Paris. I would go back to this hotel.
“Paris 2010”
This hotel was extremely convenient to everything. The location was close to metro, RER, Notre Dame, restaurants, markets, etc. Room was sized European as well as bathroom but the windows were sound proof. Room very clean.
“Good location only, the rest ... questionable”
The best things of this hotel are its location (3 blocks from Notre Dame) and the free internet at the lobby. The room was super small by any standards, wherever you place a regular size suitcase and open it, there is a door (either entrance or bathroom door) that does not open at the same time. The shower is a triangle consisting of two 30-inch walls and a curtain, so it's impossible to take a shower without touching the walls or the moldy curtain or spilling water all over. You won't get a fresh soap bar every day. The noise from the street is pretty isolated; however, you can hear everything from the hallway or neighboring rooms, so don't count on sleeping well past 8am. The free breakfast is 'humble', and the coffee was regular American (weak, watery) coffee which disappointed me. If you get to the breakfast area near closing time (10:30am) you won't get a clean table, and you will get a lot of attitude from the staff which seem to get angry at anyone arriving any time past 10am. The reception desk staff was nice to offer to use their taxi service to the airport, which charges a flat 50 Euro fee and arrived in on time.
“Good little Hotel!”
It's true the rooms are on the smallish side but they are comfy.. I stayed there twice in a week.. AC works , CNN on the tube, great location and very nice staff.. They pointed me to a good wine shop on Rue Monge where you can also buy fresh bread at the bakery etc in the morning for a cheap breakfast.. good cheese next door to thw wine shop and a great open market , sat, tue and thursday! cool clothes and food... Aas far as restaurants : avoid the Bar a Huitres near by.. cold service and 45 minute wait for the wrong meal.... there are lots of nice places within blocks to try..
“Wonderful staff”
The desk staff (one man and one woman) during our three night stay were wonderful. Our room was small, which we expected; corner rooms were larger. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was small, but very clean. The location was fabulous: We took the RER from CDG airport (about 8 euros)and the hotel was a block from the San Michel stop and it was also a short walk to Notre Dame and the Ile St. Louis. Many sidewalk cafes nearby. Only drawback was no coffee pot in room!
“Best Place to stay to be in the heart of Paris”
This hotel was a great choice - walking distance to so many sites and public transportation. The staff were very welcoming and helpful - even offered to change our room if we found that side of the hotel too noisy - and they moved our luggage for us. Only suggestion - breakfast is served from 7:30 - 10:30 - those coming at 9 - 9:30 often missed out on the croissants or other breads. Would be nice to have this available throughout the meal. When I return to Paris I will certainly book into this Best Western!!!
“Good Location, Sensible Price”
Helpful staff, great location for the money, close to the intersection of Blvd St. Germain and Blvd St. Michel. Rooms are small, but clean.
“Great Location, Clean But Small Rooms”
This was a clean hotel in a great location which we got for a good price so we were happy with it overall. Depending on what you are looking for, the rooms are extremely small (even for Europe) and the bathroom and shower in particular was very small. The room did not have any of the Parisian charm we had hoped for but was clean. The hotel was very close to the Metro and walking distance to Notre Dame Cathederal and Luxenbourg Gardens. There was also alot of Shops and cafes very close and a nice area to stroll in.
“Consistancy in a hotel”
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Best Western La Tour Notre Dame. The location was ideal and certainly convenient for access to the sites and shopping areas of St.Germaine. The buffet breakfast, the free internet, and clean environment were all pluses. It is a good idea not to have too many suitcases though, since the rooms can be quite small. We would not hesitate staying at any Best western hotel.
“Better than I hoped”
Small rooms, but that is Paris. However, very clean, comfortable beds, quiet, close to Metro/RER and walking distance to most things. Would stay again without hesitation. Lots of great resturants nearby. Ask for coffe and they will provide you with a complimentary one!
