I recently stayed at this Hotel Helios ( Sept 24- Oct 4 ). I was traveling with a friend and her travel agent suggested this hotel. I was extremely pleased with everything!! Clarissa at the front desk is very helpful and gave me perfect directions and always answered any questions I had. The hotel is conveniently located in walking distance ( some are long walks, mind you) to just about all the major attractions. Montmartre is approximately 20 minutes , the Notre Dame/Pompidou center is about 45 minutes and the Tullieries are also about 30 minutes walk. If you prefer there is always the subway which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There are plenty of little cafés and shops around to get something to eat. My room was 401 and I found it to be perfect. By American standards it would be considered small, but I found it perfect and I wasn't paying for things I didn't need (ex. Pool, gym etc). To describe the room it was approximately 20 ft long by 10 ft wide. It was divided into two sections. When first upon opening the door a full bath is immediately to the right, if you walk straight thru the door past the bath the queen/full size bed is to the right . There is a small desk which has a hot pot and coffee/ tea supplies in it, a chair and across from the desk is a wardrobe with shelves,a safe and a small fridge with drinks. There is also a small balcony with large French windows that opens up. I found this room to be perfect for one person. I plan on coming back.
Fabulous hotel and staff - our room was fairly small but very clean and well equipped. We asked for the same room as the previous year and were given this. Great location for shopping and walking distance to the Louvre and the Opera House, Hope to stay again.
Citadines Bastille Marais more than met our expectations. We had stayed at the Citadines Covent Garden in London previously, and liked having a little kitchen for making some of our own breakfasts and bag lunches, and storing cold drinks. We picked this Paris Citadines because it was the least expensive central Paris one with A/C, which we felt essential for summer. There are other cheaper ones that don't have A/C that would probably be fine in fall through spring. There are 2 Metro stations nearby that got us most places with no more than 1 transfer, and got us in with our luggage direct from Gare du Nord, and out with 1 transfer to Gare de Lyon. The #69 bus to Louvre and Eiffel tower stops across the street (search #69 bus tour on Rick Steves site). Staff were friendly, helpful and fluent in English. Room was an hour late being ready on arrival, but they compensated us with free in-house cont. breakfast next day. Breakfast OK but a bit high at 12e each. Free fairly good Coffee/Tea/Cocoa 24 hours in breakfast room. Room kitchen tiny but fairly complete. Sleeping area a bit tight, but typical for Europe. Bathroom fresh, clean, roomy, with a tub and 120v razor outlet. There were some cooking odors in the hallways, but we didn't notice them in our room. Room was on 5th floor on the main street, but noise level fairly low. In-house laundramat served our needs. Two grocery stores within a couple blocks, plus several restaurants. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.
"Conveniently placed, comfortable and well priced"
Stayed in one of the newly renovated twin bedded rooms, which was fine. Free wifi access, comfortable beds, good strong shower, TV, easily controllable airconditioning or heating and pleasant little verandah onto central courtyard..
The desk clerk, Fabio was incredible as was the rest of the staff. Fabio's recommendations were honest and very valuable. The entire staff was friendly and the service was excellent. The location in the Latin Quarters was near the Metro and the neighborhood had good restuarants and shops.

The Au Royal-Cardinal Hotel lies in the heart of Paris' Latin Quarter , within walking distance of many of the city's main …More
This hotel has a fabulous location, literally across the street from the Louvre. There are lots of restaurants close by with easy access to the Metro. The staff was very helpful with information and requests. Our television didn't work, but we were compensated with complimentary breakfasts two mornings. That worked just fine for us.Our room was also surprisingly quiet, considering that we were in the middle of a bustling capital city. Our only minor complaint was that, although air-conditioned, the room was not cool enough for us. In all other ways, the room was totally satisfactory. We would definitely stay here again when in Paris.
