“Lovely village atmosphere”

The village-style setting of the hotel and the fabulous beach-front location makes the Kefalos Beach a great place for a relaxing break. The staff were very welcoming and the pool area was well-designed and attractive. Although there were lots of places to eat and drink very nearby, these didn't disturb the peaceful location.

Must see
The mosaics near Paphos castle.

“Relaxing and pleasent stay”

We spent at the Kefalos Beach Village hotel three nights in November. It was really relaxing and pleasant stay. We liked in this hotel that it looks like a small village in comparison to the hotels in neighborhood. It consist of small buildings with a few apartments each. It has pool and own beach near the hotel. Food was great and service was very good. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Area recommendations
1. Lara Beach - Wild beach in the nature preservation area. It is better to have car with 4WD to go there. 2. Tombs of the kings - archeological sight with tombs of the Paphos citizens influenced by the Egyptian practices 3. Mosaics in Kato Paphos

“Good hotel with a lovely pool area”

Really enjoyed our stay at The Kefalos Beach Tourist Village hotel. Large room with little kitchen and bath room with shower and bath. Kitchen stocked with everything you need, fridge, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery etc. (Handy tip, take a plug power block connector as not many sockets and then you can plug in cameras, phones etc.) We had a side sea view which meant sitting on one part of the balcony and looking to the side via a wall, but I guess that is what it meant! Lovely pool area with lots of sun beds, towels provided, lots of space. Bar for drinks and meals by the side of the pool, very good service. The only thing we thought was that the main reception area could do with being refurbished up as it looked dated and the rooms could maybe be refreshed. Only stayed B & B but breakfast good. Clean towels every day room very clean. Lots of restaurants in the area. Would recommend this hotel and enjoyed our stay.

Area recommendations
Afraid we did not like Paphos harbor as lost the charm since being pedestrainised. Poor looking palm trees with no shade (very hot in late September) and shops selling 'tat'. Coral Bay, just a 20 minute journey on the bus was better. Buses very good, buy a 2 Euro ticket and you can get on and off the bus all day. Go up to the old town and the market area. Would hire a car next time to get around the countryside.
When to go
If you do not like it too hot wait until the end of September, even then very sunny and warm.
What to pack
Do not worry about cardigans you will not need them. Had a storm one evening but did not last long. Take a plug power block connector as not many sockets so you can charge cameras, phones etc. Definitely take sun cream!

“Would recommend”

Great place, although they are still doing building work on the coast areas - glad we didn't up-grade to a sea view - the bulldozer noises would have been worse than the noise from the entertainment in the bar. The beds are two singles made up as two singles and pushed together and the matresses are hard. Apart from that we were comfortable enough - nice little kitchen everything you need, would help if they provided a dish cloth or scrubber though. Cleaners were sweet and very effective and fast workers - wonderful ladies! Thank you all very much. One word of caution - the restaurant stopped serving at 10pm on the day we arrived so we weren't able to get anything to eat and we had no idea where other restaurants were. Would recommend Metaxas restaurant 100 m away from beach up the road from the village - great food and freindly service. Also recommend Fat Mamma's - especially if you are hungry - huge portions on main road just a bit further up and turn left (they also have a floor show).

Area recommendations
You really should make a trip to Aphrodite's rock/Birthplace - the best beach we found. Polis is great too. For history buffs the Tomb of the Kings and the main Archaeological site (Neopafos) are a must see - fantastic mosaics - things that would be behind glass in the UK are just out in the open. Take plenty of water or drinks with you are no cafe's or shops apart from a book shop at Neopafos (amazingly).
Getting around
Caution pre-book your transfers we were charged 35 Euro for a less than 25 km taxi ride - rip off or what and we told it was bank holiday and would cost more for the return journey. Needless to day we didn't give a tip! We did book a car for part of our holiday, but didn't fancy trying to find the hotel in the dark! So we we OK to return to the airport.

“Reasonable Place for Families”

We stayed a week in Kefalos in Sep 2009. It is probably 3 1/2 star resort rather than 4 stars. Large nice swimming pool. Clean from the outside and inside. The rooms are of good size. Nearly all double beds are in fact 2 single beds put together. Beds are hard and not that comfortable. Food is reasonable as well. Quantity is sufficient. Salads are great. Main course, medium range. There are usually night activities which are mainly family oriented. The beech is rocky but you can walk 200m for a nice small beach. Walking distance to Marina (shops & restaurants). All in all, satisfactory, reasonable price.

Traveller's tip
September is a good time to go, after school holiday. Weather is still warm enough for nice swim.

“Very good hotel pity about the pool bar”

We were very satisfied with this hotel in general, the buffet breakfast was excellent. Just two gripes. The first, one day the cleaner must have been running late and the bathroom was not cleaned to the usual standard. The other was the pool bar. The hotel announced that due to a wedding at the hotel the evening meal would be served in the pool bar. When we asked for a menu we were just handed a snack menue, when we queried this we were told that that was all that was available; {we later found out that the evening meal had been a barbeque but this was not mentioned}. Whilst we were having a drink the bill was presented and the waiter stood over us until we paid. On another occassion when we went for a snack the bill was presented before the food had even arrived.Apart from this the hotel was well run, the reception staff very helpful, and the overall eexperience was very good.

Traveller's tip
For an excellent meal in Pafos go to 7 St. Georges Tavern. It is just outside of Pafos and a world away from the chips with everything restaurants in Kato Pafos. It is an authentic taverna with all the food and wine being organic. It serves the best meze we have ever had, with over twenty different dishes. It is well worth the taxi ride from Kato Pafos and tkes about ten minutes.

“Lovely hotel”

Kefalos Beach is a lovely hotel, big rooms with every self catering facility you need. The staff are lovely and friendly. The lovely spacious rooms are spotlessly clean, there is a shop onsight. The pool areas are clean and slip proof. Child facilities are excellent, the hotel is right on the beach and has a childrens play park. There is also a sandy beach within 5mins walk. We mostly ate on Paphos Harbour which has many good restaurants and is a lovely walk in the evening. If you hire a car visit Laksi,Polis and Coral Beach. Had a lovely meal Laksi Harbour in Latchi Village Tavern.

Traveller's tip
Take your childs favourite breakfast cereal with you as food in the supermarkets is expensive (GBP5for a packet of Weetabix, GBP7 for ten fishfingers). If you cant live without your morning cuppa pack tea bags and coffee too!!

“Excellent location”

This was off season and may be more crowded in summer but the small units rather than hotel meant we hardly saw or heard other guests. We did not spend time there in the day as we travelled around the island but when we did it was perfectly located on the beach. The pool was nice and there were (in off season) plenty of umbrellas and sun loungers. The bar staff were not plentiful and could learn to make a better Margarita but at this time it provided refreshments and shade. The walkway into Paphos Harbour was lovely but having a car was a must. The main road is a two minute walk and provides all the british restaurants you could wish for but finding authentic ones is a far harder task. The hotel is very family friendly and is away from the main strips and town enough but close enough not to be isolated. It was definitely convenient and the room was clean and comfortable. We shared a room for three and the sofa bed was firm and comfortable. It may not be for all as it is not soft but I liked hard beds though two weeks might cause a few problems. The room was spacious enough for three and the option of the kitchen does give a greater possibilities for food options. The hotel has a well stocked supermarket as well as the dining room option. We had a great 4 nights and would definitely recommend it to others.
