“Peaceful refuge in Umbria countryside”

After a long trip from Verona, I drove into what can only be described as what parking lots in heaven must look like. That is, you park in an old olive grove. I know - who would have thought that parking lots would make an impression? After that, it was so nice to get to the beautiful room, open the windows and have a gentle breeze come in and listen to the birds out in the surrounding vineyards. The staff were very helpful and gave advice on getting to nearby cities. The lunch at the restaurant was one of the best I had in Italy (and thats saying a lot) - bit pricey, but worth it.

Excellent hotel- quiet, good service, great resto and ideal for a relaxing Umbrian holiday. The hotel is alittle off the mian road - but that is the charm. Car is a must to visit the sites of Umbria , all within 45 mins.

“Wonderful getawat- our best hotel in Italy”

The Villa di Monte Solare was the best place we stayed in our two-week trip through Tuscany and Umbria. The hotel is beautiful- the rooms, the grounds and the landscape. We thought that our room was wonderful, had a great experience at the spa and really loved the restaurant. Plus, everyone who worked there was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely, relaxing hotel in the region.

“Gorgeous location out in the Umbrian countryside.”

Not cheap, but good food and drink. Would go back any time. If handicapped, make sure to request appropriate rooms, because some are (beautifully) location up to 200 feet and more from breakfast rooms and restaurant - a bid tough in inclement weather. Very romantic setting

“my husband favourite hotel in Italy!”

We stayed at this romantic and charming hotel in August 07 for one night. We enjoyed the kindness of their staff. The hotel is located in a superb location on top of the hill and offers a great cuisine and adorable Umbrian wines (both at very affordable prices). Their restaurant is delightfull: traditional Umbrian cuisine interpreted in a modern way. They also made me a special vageterian dinner upon request. We plan to book it again anf for longer period in the future. I would like to stress that staff is lovely, trying to help in any way they can.

“A bit formal and stuffy”

This is a beautiful hotel with lovely grounds but has a very formal atmosphere and not the relaxed feel i usually like from a hotel.
