“Hopping casino, nice rooms, some hidden fees and charges”

I had visited the casino on past trips; this was my first stay in the hotel. The room was large, nicely furnished, really nice, large shower/bathroom. The casino/bar is incredibly loud, because of musical acts intended to fill the casino with sound. Some acts were really good, but all were loud. The food was good as well. A big complaint I did have was a misrepresemtation as to phone charges for local calls. I was lectured upon checkout that "everywhere in the world" local calls are billed per minute, not per call as I has been expressly told when I asked. I will refer the dispute to my credit card company to resolve, as the desk staff was lecturing, not looking to address the issue.

Dining

I have never had a bad meal in Panama City. Friends took me to one restaurant called La Posta (?), in the financial area of downtown, which was really, really, great for seafood and porkchops.

“very busy hotel”

went on business to Panama. As hotel prices are huge in Panama City, went for this one, as it was the cheapest offered in that class. Hotel is in the city center, well located, clean. the down side, only if you see that as down side, is that it is very busy. There is a casino on the second floor with lots of noise, which fortunately you don´t hear in the rooms. The other thing is - don´t go with your wife. Casino is packed with prepaid girls (inoffensive). your wife could get angry. If this is no inconvenient for you, go to this hotel, as apart from those two things, it is very good.

“Casino action at it's best!”

The Hotel in located in an area surrounded by restaurants and shops. Overall the Hotel is great, the Casino is the main attraction and lively at all times, It is a very adult hotel with the ativities in and around the the casino. The food is fine, and other than the breakfast is priced for value. The bars are all priced well also. The staff was very courtious and when I asked to change rooms due to the view they didn't blink an eye and moved me to a higher floor with a better view.

Nightlife

The Casino has a large bar as well as live entertainment. For a single male the bar is full of girls that are one of the attractions.

“there are much better options for the same price... look for other options”

Very loud lobby because of the slots machines... Service at the front desk not so good. The package bought from Expedia said that includes continental Breakfast i they said that the Expedia Group don't have that benefit so i had to complain to obtain what i paid for. Rooms are comfortable but no so clean. really nasty stains in the carpet. in general, i will not recommend this hotel to anyone

“Not bad”

The hotel was pretty good and the location also pretty good. I saw other reviews mentioning hookers in the hotel, but I did not see any. I can only assume they are in the casino area. The price for a driver is $15 per hour which is not bad. Sites are not witihin walking distance. Staff was average answered basic questions but did not go out of their way. Free internet and gym was a plus.

“Fantastic location”

Love this hotel. I stayed at the Veneto with my wife and daughter for 9 days. I was very skeptical prior to arriving due to several negative review. My family and I will stay again next year and will recommend to others.

“Convenient. Enjoyed the pool, the spa, etc.”

I found the staff very willing to help but if you don't speak Spanish it is difficult. The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. But you will NOT have a coffee pot in your room. Dunkin Doughnuts is just outisde the hotel entrance. Also, no bathtub if you are a tub person. Wake up call came through five out of six requests. If you want to save money, do not take the taxie from out front of the hotel, but take one from just down the street. And if you are offended by beautiful young woman making a living from services they offer, do not stay at this hotel. Otherwise, overlook them and just enjoy your stay.

Area recommendations

I would recommend Rudy's Tours. He and his wife speak several languages and the groups are small.

When to go

We went during the rainy season (June) and found that it did not interfer with any of our plans. We went to the pool early in the day before the rain came, and if we were touring during the day, it did not interfer. But if you are hiking, it will make it more difficult or impossible, so schedule accordingly.
