“In spite of dissatisfection of some points,I expect to come again”

A modern hotel.Includes all facilities. very noisy at entrance hall and coffitery. soft mattresses which do not support the body. good and plesant breakfast restaurant very expansive transportation with hotel"s taxis to any direction clean and tidy room,well equiped

“Loved It; Can't wait to go back!!”

This hotel was absolutely fabulous! The staff was always friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The facilities were great and had very convenient hours, accommodating all shedules. I look forward to going back with my family.

San Francisco or Bella Vista...it is close to a lot of action.

“Wonderful stay except for early construction noise.”

I was pleased with the courtesy of the staff and would have rated the hotel higher but for two things: The toilet simply did not flush properly and for three days of my twelve day stay there was construction on the floor above that began before 8am. The noise was so bad one could not sleep. All of the employees I encounted were very pleasant and courteous. The food in the hotel as excellent. The atmosphere in the lobby and bar was cheerful and inviting. Check out the bakery, it was excellent!

“Sheraton Panama - Great Home Away From Home”

The Sheraton Panama is centrally located, near a giant shopping center called Multiplaza with upscale stores, movie theaters, and restaurants. On site there are three restaurants serving decent to good food (great "sancocho" the Panamanian version of chicken soup). I particularly like the pastry/coffee shop they have with delicious breakfast items. There is a spa/gym where one can work out, get a massage, or sit in the sauna. The pool is very nice with full restaurant service and resident birds and squirrel. Also one can play tennis or ping pong for a nominal hourly rate. The staff were very helpful and courteous and efficient. All questions were answered promptly and helpfully. I will definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it to all travelers.

Area recommendations

For restaurants I recommend Bella Vista, try Market for a great steak. Just blocks from the hotel is a fabulous restaurant called Don Patacon with divine Panamanian food. Also the Amador Causeway and Casco Viejo have great bistros, bars and restaurants. Casco Viejo is very interesting as it was established during the Spanish occupation of Panama back in the 1400s. Its a treasure trove of history with wonderful pirate stories.

Getting around

Dont take the cab from the hotel since it costs about quadruple the normal amount. Just walk down to the bus stop at the corner and flag down a normal city cab.

Shopping

Multiplaza near the hotel has great shops but is very high end. For a more casual experience go to Albrook Mall near the old Canal Zone which has great shops, restaurants, movies and a climbing wall. It is enormous and fun to walk around.

“nice rooms”

The rooms were very good, with nice view and comfortable. Food was also good and not expensive. Pool area was a little dirty, but the pool was nice. The location of the hotel was very good, next to everything. You have a nice mall ( 5 minutes buy cab, 3usd) with a terrace full of restaurants.

Getting around

You don´t need to rent a car, taxis are very cheap, (3 to 7 usd) . We rented a car for the first 2 days and spent 250 usd!!!!! I don´t recomend that!!!!!!

Family-friendly activities

Go to Gamboa rainforest resort, its a very nice resort where you have lots of activities in the rainforest,. There´s a Telesferico that goes up and inside the rainforest, an island full of monkys, and a very nice restaurant with exelent views. You have also a restaurant near the river where you can feed cocodriles. That was the nicest place we visit in panama!

“Too price for the quality of service offered”

“Good value”

From the outside, the Sheraton Panama City is reminiscent of Leningrad: lots of concrete and an imposing facade. Inside it's very boss; 70's architecture and lighting. Service is excellent, rooms clean and comfortable. In-room coffee was a disaster but room service was cheap for a business hotel, fast and cheerful (breakfast for two was around $29 including tips and fees). Wonderful pool, excellent gym.
