“One of our favorites”

This was our second year staying at Gran Nacional. Both visits were exceptional, with good service and amenities. It's great location, easy to find from the airport, in the heart of everything, close to the interamerican highway with free parking. We rented a small car at David Airport for $8/day plus the required $12/day for 3rd party coverage from Dollar and explored Boca Chica, Las Olas, and Puerto Armuelles. The "Poolside" rooms are just a bit more money but have a great slider/patio deck to the pool. The pizzeria is one of the best for italian food, with great wine selections under $20/bottle. Wireless is available in the lobby and cafe areas, lots of English cable channels. Across from the Casino with live entertainment and traditional music at 11pm. We needed a pharmacy and bookstore and found both within a block of the hotel.

“Good food,pool, strong drinks”

Morning brunch (6-10am) consisted of cantaloupe , water melon,pineapple , eggs,sautéed beef, bacon,juice and pancakes. Fabulous coffee! A word of caution, while our room on the poolside was quiet ,Upon roaming the halls around 2am the roadside middle of the hotel I was able to hear the music from the casino across the street.So if you prefer quiet at this hour on the weekend decline a room in this location. The margarita was very strong The pool fabulous Well worth the price

“Great place to stay in David!”

This is an excellent choice for a hotel to stay in when you're in David. The staff was courteous and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable. There are several choices of restaurants at the hotel. We had dinner at the Italian restaurant and enjoyed our pizza there. I would recommend this hotel as a nice place to stay with good value for the price.

Good hotel for a overnight in David. The room is clean and confortable. The food at the ¨Italian Restaurant¨ was not good.

“Prepare to Enter The Dungeon”

This hotel is in a great location, the reception area is nice, grounds well kept...but the rooms ruined the trip for us. Maybe this is just with the standard rooms - but man I felt like I was in my grandmothers basement. The room was very large - but sparsly decorated with old grid ceiling tiles and poor lighting. The beds were rickety and on wheels. The AC worked great and there was a mini-frige, desk area, and safe. Whatever you do, don't stay in standard rooms - or ask to see your room first. It is possible there are nicer rooms in the hotel. Again, the hotels location is great, movies and casino right around the corner, 3 restaurants in the hotel and free Internet. Staff didn't smile much and kind of made me feel like I was intruding on a conversation if I asked for something.
