Our stay at Gamboa resort was great! We visited for the nature as we big into birding. The whole area is so beautiful and nature at it's finest. The hotel is almost 25 years old and although it shows its age in the main building, the room we had was very spacious, clean and comfortable. On the first day from our second floor balcony we saw lots of birds, including 4 aracari toucans and 2 killed-billed toucans. The staff at the place was super attentive and friendly, in the restaurant Jonathan was a star for us! Food every day was good and although it's buffet, there were plenty of options for each meal. Overall our stay was amazing. Loved birding in the area and came back home with a whooping 35 new species identified. We will be back soon!

Set into the hillside with sweeping views of the river and rain forest. Staff is attentive and professional. Rooms are spacious and clean. The pools was uncrowded and refreshing. The buffet was high price for lots of mediocre food. The Monkey Bar on the lobby level was much better with ala carte options. The empanadas were so good we took some with us when we left. It is difficult to understand all that they offer - the property is expansive. Hope to return one day

Beautiful grounds, helpful staff, some services like arranging taxi to airport way more expensive than they should be - like $$20 more than Taxi to get there from airport. Food is good but expensive compared to other good restaurants we ate at while in Panama.

This property offers a lot of activities related to nature. The river view room is the best. All meals from thecrestaurant is buffet style. The monkey bar has a menu. Enjoyed the seimming pool also.

This place was beyond amazing! The staff was extremely heplful with all needs. They provided tours. I went on the aerial tram, rainforest walking tour, sloth tour and the monkey island boat ride. The guides were very knowledgeable and personable in all subjects. I felt at home.

This resort is beautiful! While it isn’t the newest in the area it does have incredible views, extremely friendly staff, good food & drinks, and spacious rooms. They help with tours of the area and provide a free nighttime wildlife tour that is 25 minutes long. This is a must see & stay in Panama.

It was a wonderful place. The rooms could use a little bit of renovation / updating, but overall we liked it very much. If you want to do tours you should book them well in advance, but we managed to see a lot of things anyways.

Excellent location for birding, lots of birds on property and legendary birding close by. The resort is getting dated but still nice. Same with the amenities (pool and dining areas). The rooms ac was lacking at a constant 25.5 celsius. I emptied the humidifier about 30 times in the week we were there. Visit the town of Gamboa for a Panamain feel.

A luxury option for birders - close to the famous Pipeline Road, but there are also trails on the property and near the activities area, and fantastic views of the Chagres River and marshes.

Great experience at this resort. It’s in the jungle and has great local fishing available across the river. The wildlife is an orchestral event at sunrise and sunset! Tours are decent but pricey. Saw a sloth on my own walk across the bridge and howler monkeys are everywhere.

Magical experience. Only complaint is that the driver from the airport actually took almost 2 hours and there are repairs getting to Gamboa. Just factor that in! Food was incredible and the views do not get old. Monkey bar stuff were kind and made great drinks!

Beautiful, but lacking basics
The property views are amazing, the staff is hospitable, but the food options are limited and there is no mini shop if you need an item (there is only a shop for souvenirs... for example, I needed more bandaids - lots of hiking & I got a couple blisters - & the front desk staff told me didn't have any. They were so unconcerned. I think this is odd for a hotel, especially considering there is no kind of market on the property. I also ran out of Deet - again, nowhere to buy more. I would have liked to have a sign for the room door (Do Not Disturb/Please Clean Room). There were 2 options for dining: a watered down buffet or the Monkey Bar, which serves a basic sports bar menu (burger, wings, nachos, etc.) - not bad, but it would be nice to have some some additional options. The music on Friday was fun & the staff at the tour desk is really nice.

The hotel rooms face the Chagres River which is an amazing view. The rooms are comfortable but the food is a bit overpriced especially breakfast unfortunately there are no other places to eat around the hotel. Otherwise a good stay.

the beautiful scenery you can’t put a price on that the view every morning was breathtaking the downside would be the hotels upkeep it felt very dated and wasn’t very clean our towels had a musty smell and the rooms were just average. There isn’t too much variety when it came to dining either. Overall the staff and the mini excursions were pretty awesome. Little things would take this from a 3 star experience to a a 5 star experience.

TERRIBLE. Was charged for a room that had no working A/C. Beware of the Loft suites. There is no a/c second floor. Only fan and its just hot air circulating upstairs and if you get room 439 a/c is broken. After an exhausting day all you want to do is relax and enjoy what you are paying for. They switched us to a room of much less value. And offered no refund but they did offer an $18 breakfast. No thanks. The next day I tried talking to management about a refund and it took me 3 times heading to the lobby to reach some sort of agreement. Also note there is no phone in the rooms. Any and every request must be done in person or on your cell. Hotels.com did not help at all. Never booking on this app again.

Quick Rainforest trip
This beautiful old hotel is in the perfect location and was such a stunning spot to wake up to, listening to the rainforest sounds around us. A visit to the sloth sanctuary and a hike through the rainforest was worth the trip here, a quick getaway from Panama City. Downside - the hotel has had a few updates, yet it has the potential to be so much better. The restaurant in buffet style and very basic. If you can't get to the more remote rainforest areas such as Boquete, it's not a bad stop.

Amazing views, friendly staff, lots activities! Incredible swimming pool. Such an wonderful location to get a taste of the rain forest and wild life. We stayed for three days and dining options were excellent from our point of view, with sufficient variety right in the main dining hall. We didn't feel the need to try out the other restaurants. Would definitely come here again.

Magnifique resort parfait pour un court séjour en famille. Toutefois, apportez-vous des collations parce qu’il n’y en a pas sur place à l’exception des restaurants qui sont quand même coûteux pour la qualité ordinaire des repas. Le buffet était d’ailleurs froid.

I loved the attention and dedication to animals and conservation by the staff and the tour people beautiful facility, but they need to get that pool bar functioning. Would be nice if some of the tour girls at the tour desk didn’t ignore me when I tried to speak to them in English. Majority of the staff was very friendly except a couple girls at the tour desk who would completely ignore me when I tried to speak to them in English, and proceeded to only talk to my girlfriend in Spanish, which I thought was rude, but this was only one or two people. There was one gentleman a manager, who was incredibly helpful, and even brought us Coca-Cola us to the room. Overall incredible place with great respect for wildlife

We bought a package where we paid ~200 dollars for food for 3 meals, the lunch was horrible cheap food.... the pool bar didnt have much choice. The Open bar in the hotel will not serve food, it was very badly organized place and experince not worth spending $400 for the night. The room AC was making so much noice and we could not reach the room service from the room. Had to sleep in a noisy room that costed us $200 also

Gamboa offers no tours on Mondays. Was not told prior to arriving. Pool seating is very limited. Chairs are shabby, old and uninviting. Indoor areas smell like mold ans restrooms are messy and not clean. Front desk staff is accommodating and warm!
