Parking very tight, but secure behind a locked gate. The hotel is in an old building and could be renovated. Staff were nice and friendly.

Good: * Nice welcome * Nice size quiet room, clean * Bath and shower were nice * Public area's nice * Secure parking Not so nice * Area seemed run down * Hotel was rebaged Novetel which was visible on the poorly painted side of the hotel * Room wifi was atrocious - the speed in the bar was 3 times quicker than the room. You would not be able to work from your room - staff dismissive of issue * New TV with apps but none worked (lack of good wifi in the room) - Staff told us they were awaiting a box to make it work but we have the same TV and it just needs good wifi

We have a 7year old and a 10 month old. We hadn't been away over night for soooo long, so this night away was a huge treat. From the minute we walked through the doors the whole stay was fantastic. A wonderful welcome from Karma, made us feel so calm and relaxed. We loved our stay, both baby and our son had a fab time. Extra fun with the heritage side to the building. The beds were very comfortable and everything clean as a whistle. Looking forward to staying again. many thanks

Bed - super comfortable Dining - good menu options and the food was amazing. Our waitress was a delight Checkin - staff were less than welcoming Checkout - excellent he smiled and was very warm

clean and comfortable centrally situated and great parking. Breakfast was too expensive $25 for cereal and fruit. Hot water was far too hot when you turn the tap on. Floor flooded from shower. shower curtain really useless.

Pretty ordinary motel. Decor very tired. Reception staff don’t go out of their way to help. Room not serviced - they change the towels but don’t make the bed. Overall pretty sloppy

This hotel has seen better days, rooms and furnishings very outdated. Very small room with minimal storage, bathroom very pokey with slippery floor. Not sure if some rooms have been refurbed but ours definitely hadn’t. Wouldn’t stay again.

The Distinction is located in a great spot on Cuba Street, among cafes and shops, but far enough away from the Square to avoid late night noise. The staff went over and above to accommodate our needs, including catering to our children's dietary issues, and extending our checkout time at the last minute, when our plans changed. Highly recommended.

Were upgrade from our booked room which was appreciated, however the room felt like it was room 101 (most used room in a typical hotel). Marks on the couch that should have been simply removed with upholstery cleaner etc. Had to wait a few minutes at the desk before Expedia booking, made 10min earlier, trickled through to Reception's screen. Otherwise efficient and pleasant front desk service.

Disappointing in Palmerston
A potentially good hotel! Spacious and generally comfortable. Let down by easy details like an above the bath shower, antiquated aircon and a tiny TV (with no captioning). Mostly things easy to fix which was a bit disappointing.

Carpark was a first in first serve basis(wasn’t told) you can hear people in the corridor all day/night and cold showers in the morning. Room was tidy but slightly outdated. Service from counter staff was average, pretty casually and not very interested in you. Theres also nothing stopping a member of the public getting to your floor.

Good stay. Just some feedback about the meals. We decided to get room service and ordered a meal each. It could be good to offer a half size meal option as tgere was way too much food for 2 people and therefore there was a lot of waste. Thanks.
