“What a pleasant surprise.”
I had a quick trip to Palm Springs to meet a friend and found the Oasis on line, the reviews seemed good and I thought "well it's just one night" Wow what a shame I only had a night to spend here. The place is actually a condo/time-share so it's immaculately maintained; in fact this must have been one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed at. Room;immaculate Bathroom;immaculate Patio...well you get the idea It's a great place for an vacation, but particularly suited for a family that is looking for an economical way to come to the desert and have a fun casual holiday. You are actually getting an entire apartment, with kitchen, living room and spacious balcony. If you're OK with buying groceries and doing the cooking this is a great choice. The place apparently has six pools (the tip I got was don't get a room by the big pool unless you want to be awake until midnight...personally I like a place that has a pool that stays open till midnight but that's just me) sadly with only one morning to explore I found just one secluded pool (with hot tub) that, had I stayed longer would have kept me happy all day. The only downside of this place is the fact that rooms are rarely available. If you happen to see an opening jump on it right away, you won't be disappointed
“THis is an awesome place to stay at!”
THis is an awesome place to stay at, it's location is great. The privacy of the rooms are awesome. I love that they have so many pools.
“Value for money for families”
We were two families staying in two separate apartments and we were allocated ground floor apartments next to each other. The apartments are roomy and well equipped. We had two double bedrooms one ensuite bathroom and a main bathroom. There was also a pull out bed in the lounge which was very comfortable. The kitchen area was spacious and had everything we needed. There was a patio at the back, but it was a bit dark and gloomy though we did make use of the barbecue. The washing machine and drier are in the garage. The site is divided into cul de sacs with a pool for each block as well as the main pool. There are 8 pools in total. Two bikes are supplied with each property and we enjoyed riding around the site. There is also a gym on site and we enjoyed the jazzercise class which is held in the main pool twice a week. Useful tip: We would request an upstairs apartment away from the edge of the resort which backs onto the main road. Whenever I had to contact Reception for assistance, the response was very quick and Bart/Mark were particularly helpful. The Oasis is purely self-catered but there are plenty restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The Aerial Tramway is worth a visit and the street market in Palm Springs (Thursday evenings) has a good atmosphere. For families, this is a "no frills" resort but is good value for money and we would recommend it.
“Clean the Pools!!!”
Although there are 8 pools at the Oasis Resort, the two pools closest to our suite were not very clean "at all." In fact, one day I called the front desk to complain. One of my main reasons for going to any good hotel in Palm Springs is for their pools. I was extremely disappointed with the pool situation. Thanks for asking...
“Great for Families”
We stayed here looking for a comfortable and affordable place for our family of 5. We often have difficulties finding accommodations that are large enough, nice enough and also affordable. The Oasis filled each of these needs for us. We rented the 2 bedroom Villa which was perfect for us. We had plenty of room for our family. We appreciated and used the well appointed kitchen. The central air conditioning was efficient and kept the unit cool on very hot days. This is not however a luxury hotel suite. It is a timeshare/condo type of unit. For us it was a perfect fit - nice, very clean and well furnished. We would definitely stay here again.
“Apt in the desert”
Nice spot to get away.
“We'll be going back for years!”
This place was really amazing! The one bedroom condo is perfect for a family of four. We cooked all our own food in the full size kitchen, and the BBQ on the balcony was great. I LOVED the washer and dryer in the unit! But bring your own laundry soap, etc. because it's very expensive at the resort. There are 8 pools, and the one closest to us never had more than a few other people in it. You only get maid service if you stay 9 nights or more, so this might be an issue for some, but it wasn't for us. The resort is not downtown, it's near the border of Palm Springs and Cathedral City, so you're right near the mountains, which we could see from our pool! The location is PERFECT because there is a Vons, Trader Joe's, Target, and Walgreens all within about 3 minutes driving distance. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and once you get inside the gates, it really is like an oasis! We'll be going back next year, and next time we're staying longer!
“Good to relax”
It's a clean, quiet, and comfortable hotel to relax, but swimming pools could be better. The hotel has several swimming pools, but they are too simple and have little difference in each other. There is no pool or slide for children. Kitchen is almost perfect.
“Happy teachers”
We are teachers who attended a conference at the convention center. This was about 4 miles from the convention center, quiet, plenty of room for all 3 of us to have our own bed and bathroom (2 1/2 bathrooms).
“The Oasis in Palm Springs is always a great place”
The Oasis Resort in Palm Springs is a great spot for vacationers who like the extra privacy and space of a condo. The place is fully furnished and includes a washer and dryer.
