“Overall OK Place to Relax”
The overall stay was OK. The food is way overpriced for what they serve. I would recommend eating outside of the hotel unless you need a bite by the pool. There are tons of great restaurants within a couple miles of the resort. The pool temp was a little disappointing. IT was 95 deg in the day and the water was very chilly due to the 65 deg temp at night. The pool can be heated, but management did not turn it on until the temp dropped to 82 deg a couple days later. My daughter was shivering after 30 min of swimming. Lesson learned: Only go to Palm Springs to use the pool during the months of June to September. The service was very hospitable and professional. Room service always took less than 20 minutes. The men can also get an $80 haircut in the spa...lol I recommend a view facing the golf course, because it feels isolated from everything.
“Wonderful Hotel... Would Recommend to Everyone....”
This has been by far the best hotel I have stayed in. From the second we pulled up to the moment we left. The staff was wonderful. Any service we asked for was granted right away. Hotel and rooms are clean. Beds were super comfy..... For me the only thing missing was and "Adult" pool, but still the pool was great. For us we picked this hotel cause they had everything we wanted on the grounds. Nice restaurants, 2 bars, a rocking night club, a spa and fire rings with outdoor seating to relax after a long night of dancing.
“FRIENDLY STAFF”
We stayed for only one night but had meals there. Lunch was great at the Cava but breakfast wasn't very good. The bar menu at night sounded too great but we hardly ate............was a little disappointing. Hotel and service was terrific. Long but pretty walk to most rooms.
“Anniversary Getaway”
My husband and I came to this hotel after reading the good reviews. We checked it and I made it apparent it was our anniversary. Not only did the front desk (and manager at that) say nothing, she was rather cold and rude. We got a 3rd floor room facing the golf course. Loved the view but couldn't keep the door open because of the huge air vents to the right of the hotel that were loud with the door open. Also our room looked over the back of the hotel where they stored things and you could look down on them. The room was quiet and nice though there was a huge pink stain on the wall and the bed sheet was inside out and kept coming off the bed. The bathroom was perfect. Didn't like the "pay for the drinks/snacks" in the refrigerator, felt too vegas-y. Would have preferred just to have an empty refrige as we brought snacks. The girl in the ice cream/gelato store was magnificent. She was kind and let us try every flavor. The restaurant was awesome. We had prime rib buffet that was killer. The hotel itself is older and though upgraded you can still see that it needs work. Way too many children. If you want a romantic getaway I wouldn't recommend this place, children everywhere, even at our nice dinner. Loved the outside firepits but not enough places to sit. They did give us a $50 coupon to use at the hotel and so our dinner was free. Overall nice, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again.
“Good but out of nowhere charge”
Spa and the resort is very good and relaxing but after check out there was a out of nowhere charge of over 100 DOLLARS!! I know that there will be $25 each for the resort but WAHHH where did that charge came from? OUT OF NOWHERE!
“Delightful!”
Upon arrival to the hotel, I got lost in the beautiful lobby. As I walked in circles, the chef [Estavan] noticed my confusion, and lifted my bag and walked me directly to the front desk. The staff at the front desk informed me of the special deal I had with Expedia ($50 resort credit) which my boyfriend and I used to share delicious treats poolside. Our room [3096] had a beautiful view of the pool and surrounding mountains - fabulous amenities - (Aveda products!) and the bed was like sleeping in heaven. The hallway walk from the front desk to our room did have a stale odor - but once we entered our room - we were just thrilled. Even better - while a big family with children were audible from the hallway - the room was virtually soundproof - we really slept well. Yes, it's $10 per cocktail, and I don't understand why chips and salsa cost $8 by the pool, but only $3 at the inside bar - but they were tasty nonetheless. We only ventured out of the hotel so we could try a sushi place in the desert - otherwise I would have loved to try the Italian place for dinner - next time! The Esmeralda has become our destination for quick getaways from the beach - we'll be back for certain!
“Go Back”
Had a great experience. Can't wait to go back.
“Palm Springs - Esmeralda”
excellent hotel. Food of onsite restaurants was very good. Bit pricey on alcoholic beverages. Staff very courteous and attentive
“Nice pool for kids”
Nice pool for kids, but they never provide enough shampoo & condotioner in room.
“Review_Esmarelda_952011”
We were very satisfied with the overall experience. The only exception was that our room did not seem to have gotten the level of cleaning we would have hoped. It was a holiday weekend however the complimentary water had not be restocked (empty bottles), there was an empty Whiskey bottle beside the safe..... and the bathroom floor around the toilet was dirty. We did not make an issue of this - but it was a surprise. Overall beautiful hotel and great beds and linens..................
