“Desert romance”
A true oasis. Old Hollywood glamor without the glitz. We were so comfortable here. The room was lovely, but not extravagant. The Purple Palm restaurant was excellent. The crowd was smart, but low key. A great hideaway.
“A very restful 3 days”
My wife and I and our daughter and her boyfriend stayed 3 nights in Oct 2011. We all enjoyed our stay. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential part of Palm Springs surrounded by bungalows. However it is only a half mile walk to some very good restaurants and shops. There are only 48 rooms on 2 levels arranged on 3 sides of a quadrangle with a swimming pool and beautifully maintained gardens in the middle. The fourth side is occupied by the bar/restaurant. The staff were hepful. We arrived with a cracked windscreen on our Hertz hire car and they contacted the local office for us and gave us directions on how to get there to swop the car. They also recommended a Mexican restaurant ( La Escuela) which was excellent and much cheaper than we expected (we were suspicious that the restaurant would be expensive with the hotel taking a rake off for recommending it). There is adequate parking on the left side of the hotel as you approach the main entrance - no need to pay for valet parking. All in all a very relaxing stay and we particularly liked the free coffee and copy of LA Times provided in the bar from 6,30am. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. We would certainly return. I only wish I could be as positive about the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas which we stayed in immediately after leaving Colony Palms, but that is another story!
“Mahvelous Dahling!”
Decided to take a little "me" time and spend 3 nights in Palm Springs. I have a 4 year old and I'm a SAHM. I orginally booked a room at the Parker, but after reading the reviews I didn't think it would be so relaxing but more of a party hotel. I arrived at the CP and the moment I stepped into the lobby I knew it was the right decision. I don't want to get into a whole story here so I will just say that if you're looking to "chill" this is the place. Perfect pool, staff was amazing, bartender knew exactly what I needed, the spa was perfect, and housekeeping never once disturbed me. Massage and facial was the highlight of my stay. Thank you Colony Palms!!! I will be back.
“Relaxing get-away”
Colony Palms Hotel is a relaxing hotel that is near downtown and surrounded with places to eat and shop... Great stay.
“Great Pool to Relax”
Great small venue. Pool wonderful, great venue to relax, enjoy a drink/food. Landscaping lush (needed some trimming) but nice to not be looking at doors, felt like an oasis.
“Great view”
Lovely intimate grounds. Wonderful view of the mountains from the restaurant/pool. The only drawback I experienced was that room 47 and 48 are right next to a busy road. Traffic is steady all night long, and you can hear it!
“Desert Oasis reminiscent of Casablanca”
We were surprised when arriving at the Colony Palms. We normally stay in the glitzy, larger hotels. This was like something out of the 40's. Small, quaint but clean and comfortable. Very relaxing by the pool. Lovely room. We felt like we had gone back to Palm Springs' heyday without sacrificing comfort. Easy walk to old town. Food very good. Pool open 24 hours. Food and drink service right at the pool. Didn't try the spa but will the next time.
“A great couples getaway”
I would recommend this hotel for couples who need a quiet peaceful retreat away from their hectic lives. A beautiful, quiet place, this hotel offers relaxation and romance for all. Eat breakfast at the restaurant and walk to restaurants on palm canyon drive. Do not drive there especially if you are tired. I got a ticket the first morning before breakfast at the ridiculous cross walks they have there. Stay in rancho mirage or indian wells to avoid this hazard.
“Relaxing stay - didn't want to leave”
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The pool is very relaxing, although during busy seasons, you need to get there early in the morning to get a spot, otherwise, you will be out of luck. Only two very minor complaints....the a/c in the room had limits on the temperature which was warmer than I typically sleep with, but not by much. Also, the floor in the bathroom was a bit sticky and was not cleaned during our stay. The spa is wonderful and very accomodating. I recommend visting the spa during your stay, then having lunch or dinner at the restaurant by the pool. Very luxurious without being overpriced.
“Love the Colony Palms”
Very quiet and private surroundings. Walking distance to shops and restaurants makes for a perfect location. The only drawback is the lighting in the bathroom, it is poorly lit and on the dark side making it hard to get your makeup done. This really is a minor inconvenience and we will be back.
