“Loved staying at this timeless historic hotel!”
The hotel was built in 1926 and has maintained it's timeless charm and character by keeping the original hardwood floors and furniture throughout the hotel and by applying bright citrus colors to the walls and ceilings on every floor, but you need not worry, all of the essential modern amenities you would expect in a resort hotel - a very comfortable well made bed, flat screen TV, and Ipod dock alarm/stereo are there as well.
We very much enjoyed our stay here. My favorite part of the hotel was having breakfast or drinks, sitting on the broad tile porch, through which you enter the hotel. The bar is great, and is right inside the entrance to the hotel. Bartender George is a pleasure to talk to and will take care of you. All of the staff were beyond friendly and were always eager to help.
The hotel's Cabana beach club is about 2 miles south. This was where we spent most of every day. The club supplies you with umbrellas and beach shelters apleanty, as well as complimentary beach towels, so there is no need to bring anything other than yourself and a good book. The lunch at the beach club is also very good - somewhat expensive, but not unexpected. We ate 2 meals here. The pool is a good size and is salt water, which is so wonderful to swim in! We loved it. The only down side is that it's very old and should probably be replaced. We did hear that this is the next big update to the hotel.
For the money, I would have liked a bigger room - the standard King is not so big.
