“FABULOUS...Best of the five we stayed at in Sicily”
Ok....I don't get it with the negative reviews. We stayed at five different hotels in Sicily in November of 2011 and this was the absolute best of them all. The location was to die for with respect to the Palermo airport. The rooms were huge and clean and the bathrooms were nice and the beds were the second best we slept in. I think the other reviewers were confused. This is the only place I would ever stay in Sicily. The grounds were lovely, the views from the terrace were fabulous. The little town square in Terrasini, right up the street, was full of shops and fun things to do. The restaurant named "Bar la Sirenetta" right up the street in Terrasini was the best food we had and the owners spoke fluent English. The owners bent over backward to please us. They were truly great. I am at a loss as to why anyone would give this hotel a bad rating. We all (5 of us) thought it was terrific. Comfort, beauty, location!!!!!
“Superb”
Lovely hotel right on the beach, parking great its behind the hotel. Very friendly staff, buffet breakfast fresh and tasty. Would go back
“good value for proximity to airport”
This hotel was extremely good value for an overnight stay prior o an early departure from Palermo airport. Breakfast was available from 6.30 am - a bus was available and there was an easy walk into the adjacent town for pizza in the town square. I would definitely use it again if I needed to.
“Worst Beds in Italy”
I cant express enough how uncomfortable the beds were in this hotel. It is dumpy and the front desk was the most unpleasant I encounterd in 3 weeks of visiting all over Italy.
“Jackhammers and drilling in the morning (8:00 am)”
This hotel we booked for convenience of location (to Palermo airoport) and because we wanted to sleep and spend a quite night before going on our trip by car in Sicily. Little we knew that our room (facing the front of the hotel) was at night so noisy that we needed to sleep with earplugs. To top it all, around 7:50 am in the morning we woke up in a earthquake/shattering/drilling/hammering inferno. We could not hear even our thoughts - apparently they were fixing something next door. We had to quickly shower and leave the room since it was unbearable... Luckily for us, it was only one night stay...
“No Working Air Conditioning In Early September - Very Uncomfortable”
The location of this hotel is excellent for proximity to the Palermo airport. We had a very early morning flight (6:45 a.m.) so needed a hotel close by to drop off the rental car and go through the boarding process. This hotel was perfect for that. However, the room was very dated (tangerine colored wallpaper, holes in the curtains from age, 30 year old television) and uncomfortable. The bed was hard and not comfortable at all. The worst part was that the air conditioning in the room did not work and it was over 80 degrees in the evenings. It was like trying to sleep in a sauna bath. We complained and they sent in a technician to seemed to make the problem worse. The lobby had cool air so typical of Sicilian hotels we believe that they turn off the air in the guest rooms to save money. There is adequate parking, close proximity to decent restaurants and a nice beach directly in front of the hotel. The dinner offered at the hotel was very pricey for the mediocre quality of the food (50 euros per person). We should have gone to a local restaurant. There was a decent bar on the premises. We liked the location of the hotel because of the proximity to the airport. We would not stay here in the summer again due to the terrible air conditioning issue. We travel in Sicily a lot and many Sicilian hotels turn off the air at night but for a 3-star hotel this should not be done. I would have gladly paid more to be comfortable.
“Great location!”
The hotel was very clean and in a great location. It was definately cheaper to use the airport shuttle vs. a taxi (even at 30 Euro each way). Our only complaint was that the air conditioning seemed to stop working part way through the night. But we had an ocean view and rolladens on the windows - what a plus!
“Good hotel for a one-night stay”
Good location. Reasonable rate for this time of the year (beginning of May). Very good breakfast included. Free Wi-Fi available in bedroom. Free and safe parking. Right across the street from the ocean. Close to restaurants and boutiques. Too bad the person at the front desk never cracked a smile!
“Perfect for Palermo airport early flights.”
We were here to catch an early morning flight back home. Great location for Palermo airport. We arrived early and they made up two rooms within 20 minutes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and attractive facility. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. They have airport transfer service but if you have a rental car it's an easy 15 minute drive to the airport. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food good. Had a fabulous seafood meal at another restaurant across the street. Nice beach although a little unkempt off season. We were there in mid October and the off season price of the room was fantastic. Needed to check out at 5 AM well before the included breakfast service and the staff insisted on having coffee and rolls waiting for us in the lobby. Way too cool. Be careful - there is another hotel nearby with Azzolini in the name close to the same location that has terrible traveler reviews . Make sure you book the 'Palm Beach' hotel.
“What you see is not what you get.”
The reception and bar area looked really good. The room however, being a non smoking one reaked of cigarettes. The decor was a little bright and the room was small television was tiny. the view of the beach was excellent although it was 6.50 euro to use the beach. Breakfast was nice
