“Hotel Tonic - Palermo”
I quite enjoyed this hotel. We had a suite which was very large. The bed was excellent and the bathroom and amenities supplied were deluxe. Located right in the heart of Palermo, the hotel is an easy walk to pretty much everything, but that does make it a bit noisy. The staff were excellent and very helpful - they organized an early wake up call and had a cab waiting for our trip to the airport right on time. There was an issue with the in room hair dryer, but they bent over backwards to get a replacement. Overall, a very charming hotel.
“Great price in palermo”
Great hotel, right downtown and near to everything. Nice price, cute rooms, and really friendly helpful staff. Totally recommended!
“Good value for the money”
I had a quiet room in this loud city. I felt safe. Close to major roads Via Roma and Via Maqueda and the Politeama and Teatro Massimo. Small room with high ceiling, air conditioning. Complementary wireless Internet and breakfast buffet which was good. I would recommend the hotel but will try another one next time just to get an idea.
“Hotel Tonic”
An excellent central hotel with really friendly staff - not too in your face but there if you have any questions. The breakfast was good. The room very comfortable, well furnished and clean. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Hotel Tonic to anyone wanting to visit Palermo.
“Great three-star hotel”
Hotel Tonic is a great hotel for service (staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable) and location. It is an older hotel with hints of old elegance and if it were refurbished, would be top-rated. As it is, the rooms are large and comfortable (if a little worn) and the service is terrific. Definite value for the money. Breakfast is quite good, too.
“I was satisfied”
I was satisfied with the Hotel Tonic. The place is convenient to look around and access to the station. Its room is OK with this price. Hopefully I wanted more wide window to let the daylight in. Other service is great, such as free internet PC, breakfast, and friendly staff.
“Enjoyed very much”
Two nights Palermo stay was the way my wife and me like. Central location, quiet room, clean renovated hotel, high ceiling, plenty of space, firm mattresses. Price was extremely attractive. Desk service was polite. We did not mind to carry our own luggage to the room. Breakfast food is similar to what you would get in Sicily in most of hotels. TV is very small and has only one English language channel with CNN. Do not plan spend much time watching it. After all, TV is not what makes your Sicily vacation a success. November 1-2/2009
“Would recomend - excellent location and value for money.”
The hotel was well located for both the old and new towns, as well as bus stops for routes to/from the airport & Mondello (nearby beach resort). Our room was lovely - huge, with everything you need including air con, TV etc. We also had a nice little balcony. The staff in the hotel were always around and always ready to help us find our way around. A goo all round option.
“Nice hotel in good location”
We arrived at about 8:30am after a long train trip and were able to check into our room early after only a short 30min wait. Hotel staff were polite and spoke good english. Used internet on computer in lobby free of charge, although initially they said that they were going to charge us. Bathroom good size, room was a little squeezy but fine. No view from window.
“would be great in the spring & summer !!!”
We were here in Feb, following snow - last fell in Sicily 30 years ago! Rooms are large, tiled floors etc, so the rooms were cold (we did get the heat-pumps going + extra blankets) Hotel very central to buses, including airport bus, attractions & Information Centre. Staff very helpful and friendly + a good breakfast from attentive waiting staff.

Area:
Palermo, Italy: Sicilys capital stands on a curved bay at the foot of Monte Pellegrino. Its a chaotic, ebullient place with masses to see. Puppet theatre, street markets and marzipan fruits are typical Palermo treats. Get your bearings at a major intersection, the Quattro Canti. Dont miss the superb mosaics in the Cappella Palatina, or Serpottas stuccowork in the city churches. The mummified corpses in the Capuchin catacombs are the stuff of nightmares.
