“Truly an exceptionally pleasing experience.”
(1) Never have I been in a hotel, anywhere in the world, where the staff were so friendly, helpful, and well informed. The receptionists were outstanding, the restaurant staff hardly less so; but every single staff member was really good at their job. (2) The hotel's design throughout is elegant in a fine modern style, and the design is also practical. (3) The hotel is just between two top class museums, of puppetry and of Sicilian art (mainly mediaeval).
“Wonderful boutique hotel”
Wonderful boutique hotel but hard to find if driving and in a mediocre neighborhood. Wonderful staff and ambiance.
“Perfect place to stay in Palermo”
We stayed for 3 nights in June 2011, and were very impressed. This is a new hotel, stylish and comfortable. Great breakfasts with a superb view over the rofftops of Palermo. The location is in the historic quarter, within easy walking distance of many restaurants and bars, but in a quiet street. The staff were very helpful when the airline lost our luggage. We would love to stay again and will certainly recommend it to friends.
“Very comfortable down town hotel”
A very comfortable, modern interior within an old building down by the port. The immediate area is a bit quiet and run down, so we didn't want to wander around at night, but it was near enough to the seafront, down town shops and restaurants to justify the location. There's a bus stop at the end of the road that goes up the hill to all the main sights.
“Good Hotel, Confortable Rooms, but Bad Location and Bad Breakfast”
The Hotel was good, with good big and clean rooms. The service was good as well. Yet, the Hotel stays in a bad part of town, sepecially if you are alone and want to come back home at night. The daily rate of the hotel was good, yet there is a catch. Since it is a bit far for walking distance to other better neighborhoods with shops and restaurants, you have to get quite a few taxis here and there. And here is the worst part. The Taxi Drivers in Palermo rip you off all the time. They put the seat in front, slightly down, so that you cannot see the meter running and as they talk to you, they press a button which increases te cab fare. So beware when getting Cabs in Palermo. I was suspicious at first, then I became alert and saw the cab driver doing this in my front. A ride which was suppose to be 8 euros, he wanted to charge 18, by pressing the button. Besides this, the Breakfast of the hotel was very bad, they really have to improve a lot on that. Cheers! Have a good one!
“Would use this hotel again”
Our stay was very comfortable and service was excellent, reception very helpful. Well situated for old town and enjoyed wandering the streets. The restaurant: Breakfast was adequate and service excellent, but would not eat there again in the evening. We were asked to sign a bit of paper for the meal, on occasion without a tolal and never a copy given to us. The first night our meal was excellent and good value, but after a couple of days the price was increased by 150%. What was served was not true to what we had ordered. A shame the restaurant is not up to the standard of the hotel and in my opinion not professionally run.
“Well appointed but noisy”
The hotel inside is immaculate and clean. It is situated in a narrow street with tall buildings on each side - so not much natural light. The street is used as a busy short cut for traffic so it is quite noisy if you have a room on the street side. The bar area doubles as a smaa restaurant and does not have much atmosphere
“great hotel”
I recently stayed in Porta Felice with my family and the room was an excellent size for three people. The staff were wonderful - very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the water pressure in the shower was quite low. However we took advantage of the wellness centre right in the hotel -only 20 euros for a 2 hr water treatment with sauna, steam and whirlpool!
“Hotel Porter helped find a parking space.”
The room was comfy and inviting after a day of site seeing. It was a bit far from restaurants, but just down the street was a fresh fish trattoria (il Salvo) that was great. Driving and parking in Palermo are a nightmare, and finding a place to park played an important role in our peace of mind.
“Very chic and modern”
This is a very modern and classy hotel. From the lobby to our room I can't say enough about how clean and elegant this hotel was. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was delicious. It's only a few blocks from area attractions and close to the water. We only stayed here for two nights and for us it was perfect.

Area:
Palermo, Italy: Sicilys capital stands on a curved bay at the foot of Monte Pellegrino. Its a chaotic, ebullient place with masses to see. Puppet theatre, street markets and marzipan fruits are typical Palermo treats. Get your bearings at a major intersection, the Quattro Canti. Dont miss the superb mosaics in the Cappella Palatina, or Serpottas stuccowork in the city churches. The mummified corpses in the Capuchin catacombs are the stuff of nightmares.
