Great location, average hotel

Posted 20-Mar-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Window lock
This hotel is very close to Lovers Point. The location is excellent for the view. The room we stayed was on the second floor with a great view. Everything in the room was working fine, a fridge and a microwave. There is no air-conditioning. There may be some problem if the weather is really hot but an electric fan is provided. We did not use the heater. There may be some concern about the window. If it is open to let the air in, there is no way to lock it properly. At night, we had to close the window which could be a problem for a hot day. You also need a car to explore the area.

Rooms are older but clean and comfortable. Great location for a reasonable price. Staff was friendly and prompt.

Nice staff, okay hotel, terrible beds.

Staff was great no problems there. Continental breakfast was small and flavorless. Ocean view was partially obstructed by a ugly hotel in front of us "Borg's." The beds were not comfortable at all, they had no support, and Britney one of us got a good night sleep for our trip to San Fran the next day.

Great location right across the street from the coast. Depending on the room you stay in theres a beautiful view of the ocean. Bathrooms are pretty small and need to be updated. For some reason the water smelled coming out of the sink faucet. Over all good for the price and views.

Great location, clean but not a spectacular room.

Room was ok but was clean, not the room in the picture. Unfortunately heater did not work. Great location for walking to Monterey and Pacific Grove. Great little breakfast in the morning.

What a Dump!

Pros: Not much. Coffee was good and the Costco pastries and bananas were editable.
Cons: Read the experience
Location: Pacific Grove is a wonderful place to go to just slow down. Quite nights but plenty of beautiful scenery.
For a two night stay for my wife and I, I paid over $350 including tax for a room that, if it were not for it's location would go for $45-50 a night. We were given a room on the second floor, accessible by stairs that were rusting away from the salt air, or you could use the tiny elevator that reeked of old cigarettes, your choice. The decor was from the 1950's. with plastic fish mounted on the walls and worn carpet that looked at least 20 years old. The fan in the tiny toilet/bath was so loud that we had to use it in the dark to avoid waking each other up, likewise the refrigerator was so loud we had to unplug the thing. We tried to turn on the heater and it didn't work, so after ten minutes of waiting and two phone calls later a maintenance man showed up to light the pilot. That problem solved, we then turned on the TV only to notice that the remote would only work if it was within 5 feet of the TV. Another call, another visit to install batteries in the remote, but all to no avail! So, now moved to another room we lost our view, but at least the TV worked. Problem solved? Nope! Now this room's heater didn't work either but by now the maintenance guy was off duty and the attendant didn't have the lighter to light the pilot, so he brings us a portable heater, only it wouldn't stay on more than 45 minutes without shutting off..so in the middle of the night I had to wear a coat in bed to stay warm. On and the parking garage leaks water so be sure to bring galoshes!

recommend this hotel for couple.... not family

Posted 17-Feb-2015
Pros: location
Cons: cleaness, soundproof, facility
Location: fantastic!
it was little worse than what I expected to see. little different from what I saw some pictures in a website. room was soooo small and bed was right next to corridor and you can hear every single step from outside. AC/Heater didn't work very well. only one good thing about this hotel is.... the location... no doubt... I love this location where right next to beautiful park.

Location is the only benefit to staying here

Posted 09-Feb-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything could use improvement here
Location: Lovers Point, 17 mile drive, cannery row, fishermans wharf, monterey bay aquarium
Save your money and stay elsewhere! The list of problems with this hotel are as follows: parking is extremely limited, elevator didn't work, one of the chairs in our room was broken, there were ants everywhere, the bed squeaked everytime you moved, the light/fan in the bathroom was about as loud as a jackhammer, and the walls were so thin that it sounded like the room above us was either under construction or practicing their gymnastic skills! The one and only upside to this hotel is its location and its not worth the hassel. Stay at another hotel and enjoy the beautiful walk to Lovers Point instead!
