“Great service”

This was a really good hotel with fabulous reception staff. If only it was a bit cheaper we would always use it on our regular trips to Oxford.

“Comfort in central Oxford”

The Old Bank Hotel in Oxford couldn't be more central: on the High Street and surrounded by the traditional colleges of the university. The ambience is calm and relaxing and the staff impeccably well-trained. There is a busy restaurant popular with non-residents, and a cosy Library Bar tucked away at the back of the hotel. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to friends.

Area recommendations
The hotel offers a free guided tour of Oxford, an ideal way for the first-time visitor to see the city. There are plenty of photo opportunities in the beautiful colleges and, if you have the time, spend a few hours in the Pitt Rivers Museum which is stuffed full of amazing relics in a very un-modernist style.
Family-friendly activities
Children LOVE the Pitt Rivers Museum. Where else can you see original Eskimo clothing, whistling arrows, a stuffed dodo and shrunken heads on display? The display cases are stuffed with artefacts and there are additional drawers which can be pulled out to reveal more items. Every child (and adult) will find something of interest to them.

“We loved the Old Bank Hotel”

This is an excellent modern hotel created within a number of old buildings and done with great attention to detail. You could not get a better location in Oxford - right on High Street. The one aspect that really stands out is the friendly, professional service we received from every staff member. They are obviously very focussed on great service. High quality rooms and food, very well thought out decor throughout and a reasonable price on expedia rounded out the experience.

Area recommendations
Oxford is not that big - evreything is walkable. Pick one or two of the colleges and take a tour. We spent some time at Magdalen College and it was quite nice. By the way, The Old Bank Hotel offers a free walking tour of the town - which we enjoyed.
Must see
Bodleian Library, Ashmolean Museum, Pitt Rivers Museum, Sheldonian Theatre, Botanic Gardens
Dining
Try Jamie's Italian - a busy, friendly restaurant by Jamie Oliver.

“Excellent service from boutique hotel”

This is a very attractive hotel conveniently located in the heart of the city and with its own secure car park. The standard of service from all staff was exemplary in all areas - reception, room service and particularly dining. Rooms were very comfortable and well furnished. The restaurant is modern and has a great bustling atmosphere. Despite being busy, the service was exceptionally attentive and prompt and the food was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations
This hotel is nicely situated off the high street close to some really good interesting shops (crafts, gifts, antiques). The sister hotel (Old Parsonage) is also excellent and convenient for town.

“Old Bank is excellent”

A modern, cozy hotel that also retains the charm of its vintage building. Great staff. They helped us with a taxi and with the train schedule when we had to leave at 3:00 in the morning. The only possible negative is the room size, which was cramped with a queen-size bed, but that is to be expected in England, where old buildings don't have a lot of space. The Old Bank was perfect for our visit to Oxford.

Area recommendations
Shopping is great in the center of Oxford. Lots of cultural and architectural things to see at Oxford University, obviously. We were in Oxford primarily to visit The Kilns, the home of the late writer, C.S. Lewis. His house, the Holy Trinity Church that he attended and the Eagle and Child Pub near Oxford all are must-see sites.

“A classy hotel in the heart of Oxford”

The Old Bank Hotel is a classy hotel in the heart of Oxford. We were treated like honored guests. The staff gave us recommendations and called in reservations for dinner. They helped us find buses, trains, taxis, and an Evensong service. When we left a hat behind, they called the porter at one of the colleges to have him find it for us. The location couldn't be better. We didn't rent a car and were able to walk everywhere in the town. The Quod, the restaurant on the hotel premises, was a feast for the eye and the palate. Sometimes we sat at the window and watched the students, bicycles, and buses go by on High Street. Sometimes we enjoyed the bright paintings and decorations of the restaurant itself. The food was delicious and the breakfast buffet puts American hotels to shame.
