“Good budget hotel”

Every aspect of this hotel exceeded expectations, especially the breakfast, however the breakfast serving area layout could do with a re-design. Will definitely use this hotel again.

The hotels inside Oxford were much more expensive and not in the greatest condition in terms of cleanliness etc. So I chose Express which was 15-20 pounds less per night compared to them. The only thing is that you need a car to go downtown Oxford. If you have a car then just go on and book this hotel. I strongly suggest to use Park and Ride in Redbridge - it's only 5 minutes drive to the hotel and do not have to worry about expensive parking in Oxford. Redbridge is literally ten minutes away from the centre and totally convenient. You won't regret it. Use this option!! The hotel room was fantastic. Great bed, great pillows (firm and medium), comfortable sofa, really clean bathroom, and because I tend to pay attention to details, I really mean it was clean. Breakfast was the basic one, nothing special- could have a bit more variety but it's not the most important thing for me. Overall I would highly recommend this one and would go again.

“Ideal and realistically priced for trip to Oxford.”

Hotel was easy to locate. Staff very welcoming. Room as expected for Holiday Inn Express and was clean and well kept. Hotel located next door to football stadium. We were visiting nearby University and hotel was a only a short distance away.

Best value hotel in Oxford. Unfortunately just out of town and although near a good bus service into the city center it is reached through a park that I would not recommend to single female travellers. Otherwise clean comfortable hotel.

This hotel was useful rather than luxurious. The room was comfortable and quiet; the breakfast was generous with plenty of choice though croisants rather stale. If you are intending to spend most of your time away from the hotel then it is perfect. You wouldnt want to be cooped up in your room late into the morning or for more than a brief evening. Although there is no restaurant they provide take away menus and knives and forks and plates etc The cinema nearby is the best in Oxford. We had a four year old with us and spent most of our time out and about. We would go back, it was good value for money.

“Good hotel further away from Oxford”

Hotel was really good - staff very friendly and helpful. The only problem is the location - 15 min by a taxi - which is not a problem for people travelling by car - bit of a hassle if you're actually there to see the city. Clean, good standard but don't expect 4-5 star comfort.

“Frustrating breakfast experience”

Stayed here two years ago and commented on the lamentable breakfast servery. The coffee was awful and there was no hot food option, little has changed. The "scrum" around the inadequate breakfast "rotunda" leads to confusion and makes for an uncomfortable start to the day. The addition of scrambled egg and sausages is welcome but not satisfactory. The coffee machine is abysmal and delivers some very odd tasting liquid at best. Apparently due to hard water problems! (never heard of water softeners?) The general manager is sympathetic but frustrated by his head office who display a singular lack of vision. The hotel is clean, functional and competively priced. The location is ideal for the football stadium but is on the edge of Oxford. As with all hotels in and around Oxford it is busy and the car park filled up towards the end of the day.

“Fine for Kassam Stadium events”

This hotel is convenient for the Kassam Stadium but little else. The two local restaurants are poor and there is no food in the hotel other than phoning for takeaways.
