TERRIBLE

Posted 29-Sep-2014
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: EVERYTHING
It smelled like an old musty smoking room that was sprayed with disinfectants trying to cover it up. There were bugs in the room, the sheets were dirty, the carpet was gross. This was absolutely the most horrible place I've ever stayed. Luckily, I had a friend down the road who, at midnight, I was able to move to her house. I couldn't stand more than a couple hours there. I was worried that a roach would come out if I turned out the lights. The staff was extremely rude. NO ONE SHOULD EVER STAY HERE. It was AWFUL!!!!!

Hotel right across from Jeanette's Pier

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Pros: The location and it allowed dogs.
Cons: They had an area in the back to take your dogs to go to bathroom. Bags are there and also a garbage can. Most people did not clean up after their dogs
Location: Fishing, riding bikes, beach and grocery store across the street.
Fishing for the weekend. Great choice of hotel. Front desk was very helpful and nice. Great that we could bring my two 4lb. dogs along. Walked the beach at night looking for ghost crabs. Had a great time. Its about location, location, location.

Adequate Room At the Pier

Posted 28-Aug-2014
The room was small but adequate which was sort of the feel of the whole place. Barely room for cars to come in and out. But it worked. And the motel is nearly directly across the street from Jeanette's Pier and next to a great restaurant. Ice cream is a few doors down the other direction.

It was clean, but dingy and dated. There was no light over the sink. The ceiling light for the whole room was the only light for the sink.

Right in the action!

Right across from the Ocean, Groceries also across the street. Property is old but the management fixed our TV right away and were nice about it. Why does Rodeway put fridges inside closed cabinets? They can't cool well without air movement.

Pet friendly and at the beach.

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: Pet friendly, great location, accommodating staff.
Cons: Non pet owners might comment on odor. We had no problem after we opened a window.
Location: You are at the beach! Lots to see and do. Easy driving distance to lighthouses, fishing, Kitty Hawk, wildlife preserves, etc. Did I mention the beach?
We needed a pet friendly hotel in Nags Head, NC. We found it at the Rodeway Inn. Not only pet friendly but right at the beach. A very convenient location and lots to do and see. Everything you would expect at the shore. Clean comfortable rooms. They even have kitchenettes if you are staying long enough to take advantage of them.

Small but clean

Posted 16-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
It's close to the beach. Staff was friendly. Room might be small but reasonable. It includes refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom is small though; it's a standing bath and if you're average guy, it's hard to move around in it to clean yourself without touching the shower knob which could turn the water hotter or colder. I would definitely go back there given the location and cleanliness. And also we got the top floor, so we can see the beach from our room.

Stayed one night at this Rodeway Inn in Nags Head.

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: Cost effective, and friendly staff.
Location: Right across from Jeannette's Pier, with a public bath house/changing area for use in taking a swim in the ocean. Restaurant right next door.
We stayed one night, in Nags Head for a business purpose. Hotel was family friendly and quiet. Basic hotel, but the least costly we could find. Right across the street from Jeannette's Pier, and on the quieter Virginia Dare Trail (Beach Road,) instead of Croatan Highway...very nice experience.

Nice hotel close to the beach.

Posted 14-Aug-2014
Pros: Proximity to the beach and Jeanette's Pier (1 block). Reasonable rates, particularly for on-season.
Cons: Locate and stop the strange, loud clanging noise that happens once or twice an hour. Sounds like a large roof vent clanking shut.
Location: Bodie Island Lighthouse (10 minutes south). Mutiny bay is an excellent Putt Putt golf course. Wright Brothers Musuem and Jockey's Ridge. All must-dos.
We stayed one night and two days in the area. The staff member was friendly once she realized I really did want to know how she was doing. The room was clean. The TV will take inputs if have a laptop and cables. The hotel is well positioned one block off the highway and one block from the beach and Jeanette's Pier. The motel is pet friendly; we found out early the next morning had a yippy dog next door that started barking off an on early in the morning. We wished the owner had been more responsive. We visited the Bodie Island Lighthouse which is about 10 minutes south. We played two rounds of putt putt golf at Mutiny Bay, a few minutes north, and an excellent course. We also spent several hours at Wright Brothers Museum and several hours at Jockey's Ridge. All of these are must-do activities if you are in the area. We ate at Lucky 12, and would recommend.
