Most disgusting hotel room I've ever stayed in!

Posted 06-Aug-2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The rooms gutted and remodeled
If you're idea of a great beach hotel is mold all over the walls, hair in the sink and on the floors of the bathroom, sand and dirt on the carpet, beat up furniture, mildew smell coming from the air conditioner and threadbare sheets and all for the low price of $250 a night then this is the hotel for you. Seriously this is the worst hotel room I've ever stayed in and I have traveled a lot. I would never recommend this nightmare to anyone.

Most of the staff were pleasant, cost was too high for the quality of the hotel.

Overpriced for the hotel quality but nice location

Posted 14-Jul-2014
I have stayed at several hotels over the past 5 years due to travel with work. I did this trip as a small weekend getaway. I based my purchase on other recommendations, but found that the quality was seriously lacking vs other hotels that I stay at. The 15 ft by 15 ft indoor pool was very dirty due to sand from beach, the 3 seater hot tub was the same. Rooms on the road side had a lot of traffic noise and the had the continental breakfast room in the bedroom beside mine. Needless to say it was hard to sleep with 10-15 people next door listening to the news and talking over breakfast. Not satisfied with my stay and definitely not satisfied that it costs as much per night as most luxury hotels in Myrtle Beach that are 25 years newer.

Vacation stay

Our room had a broken air conditioner. We were changed to another room and then told we would have to move again once the air conditioning was fixed. The staff argued at first for us to remain in the room until the off site maintenance crew could come and fix it. Overall for the price we paid it was not worth it and we would never go back.

Nice hotel. Breakfast isn't so great but hey it's got juice a coffee. Just go to GRITS Grill at MP 14 in the mall shopping center. But comfy bed on the beach we had a parking lot view but from our 5th floor French balcony we could see the sound.

Great access to beach

Posted 29-Jun-2014
Great beach access. But the front staff was not friendly, maid was nice. Don't expect typical complimentary breakfast. Only local sweet potatoe biscuit, packaged Danishes and tiny cups for juice and coffee...disappointing given the price and the fact that you have to drive everywhere to eat. Didn't really want to get in car to go find food my first morning at beach...nothing there for the health minded. Room was clean and the was an outdoor area to wash sand off before heading into the hotel

Pleasant hotel on the beach

Posted 17-Jun-2014
We had a comfortable room but not on the ocean side. The view was uninspiring -- the rooms looking over the ocean were much nicer. Beds were good, also nice TV, fridge microwave. They don't have a real breakfast, just pastries, coffee/tea and juice. However, the pastries included sweet potato biscuits, plain or with ham, very tasty. There is direct access over the dune to the attractive sandy beach. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and attractions nearby, but the hotel is on a quiet street without much traffic. It's a short drive over to Roanoke Island and the Lost Colony play and exhibits, or to the Wright brothers First Flight memorial. We enjoyed our stay in the area, and the hotel was a satisfactory base of operations.

Older motel on the beach

Posted 01-Jun-2014
Only stayed one night but would definitely go back for an extended stay. Right by the dunes with a fairly new deck over the dunes to the beach. We could overlook the surf from our 3rd floor room. All rooms have balconies & fridge. Front desk employees all pleasant. If not desiring a condo, this motel is great.
