The room was fine, nothing fancy. There was a room downstairs with caution tape wrapped around the door. It was probably from a broken door knob, but one couldn't help but wonder what crime had occurred there. This was unsettling for the first impression.

Super Lage

Das Hotel ist super gelegen (zum Strand sind es nur 3 Minuten), allerdings ist das Zimmer abgewohnt und etwas stickig, wenn auch sauber. Preis-Leistung gerade noch ok.

Somewhat disappointing

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Pros: The price
Cons: Rooms need updating, new paint, carpet--everything
Location: Good location--very close to the cape hatteras light house which was nice.
I knew this would be a mid-tier pick of a hotel at best because of the cost, but I was hoping it would be comfortable enough for just me- on a fishing trip. The place is really in need of updating . There is no internet in the rooms only in the lobby. The biggest issue I had was the smell of the room. It was really strong when you first opened the door. By running the air conditioning wide open and my smeller just getting numb to it--I was able to endure it during my stay.

Wonderful staff and nice location

Posted 13-Oct-2014
Pros: Liked the friendly staff and the location.
Cons: Update the furniture.
Location: Great location, easy to get into and out of. Close to stores, shops, good places to eat and the Hatteras light house. Short drive to the beaches.
I was registered by a very nice and helpful lady. She was easy to talk to and very helpful with information about the area. She even told me about a good place to surf fish. It turned out she was right because I caught a lot of fish. The room was very clean but a little outdated. Bed was a king size and very comfortable. Bathroom was clean, water pressure was good and drains worked good. Location was great, bait shop and a restaurant were located across the street. Several stores and eating facilities were within walking distance. Hatteras Light House is about a mile from the hotel. Room rates were very reasonable for the facility. Checkout was very easy and the clerk was very friendly. I am already planning on another stay next October.

Good in a Pinch

Posted 23-Sep-2014
Pros: Hotel is in good location, and the staff are very nice.
Location: The point is right down the road, which is great for fishing.
We couldn't find any other hotel with available rooms, so we booked here. The outside overall appearance is a worn out look. It needs a good cleaning and paint job. The room was nice looking though, and the bed was comfortable.

Close to the beach

Posted 17-Sep-2014
Pros: The closeness to the beach and the lighthouse. The cleanliness of the room.
Location: Dillon's Corner store was awesome. The lighthouse and the beach are a block away.
We went for a weekend wedding and we loved the Hatteras Island Inn. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is very close to the beach and you avoid walking on any busy streets or having to drive to get there. The rooms were spotless and very roomy. The pool was a nice feature as well to get off all the sand and salt. This hotel is a block away from the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. There is a great store across the road called "Dillon's Corner" that everyone must visit. All in all, Hatteras Island Inn is a great little place to stay.
