Don't stay here Nothing is what it seems

Posted 07-Nov-2014
Room smelled of mildew. My dog found popcorn under the bed. Dead fly in window. I complained and got moved to a room that was at least vacuumed but you could still smell the mildew. Sometimes older places are great but this one isn't I have pictures of a yucky bathroom growing mold

Close to beach and fishing

Cons: Communication between Expedia & Motel chain
I don't know if this was the motel's fault or Expedia's fault, but I booked and paid for a room with two queen beds and received a room with one queen bed. Couldn't change rooms because the motel was completely booked for the period I was staying. The difference in cost was about $10 a night.

Disappointment weekend

Posted 21-Oct-2014
Pros: It was on the water.
Cons: Motel should be updated and if you are not going to get a bay view, you should be told.
Location: Centrally located at 158 and 12, makes it easy to go in either direction.
We were expecting a bayview and only saw the parking lot. The room was small, but ok; however there was caked dirt on the dresser, and rust all over the shower head. Constanly heard the traffic going by.

Great for a large group. Once master bedroom (queen bed) with a private bathroom. Another bathroom with a jacuzzi and a stand up shower. Living room with a king bed and a sofa bed. Fridge, sink, coffee maker, and a microwave. Kitchen utensils, plates and cups.

Great, laid back & pet friendly!

I was only looking for pet friendly, but loved this hotel! Quiet location, on the sound, with room to house and walk my Great Dane pup! Caught crabs from the back deck, and even saw a dolphin swimming one morning!

Close to the nearest beach.

Pros: Everything that they advertised was what you got.
Cons: A way of blocking out the sound late at time of the traffic (once you turned the tv off) on the road/
Location: Plenty to do in Nags Head, Manteo, Kill Devil Hills area. Great restaurants. Visit Austin Fishmarket for great seafood for lunch. Great prices.
Enjoyed my stay. Motel quiet. Pet friendly. Overlook the marina on 1 side Near the bridge to fish (if you'd brought fishing equipment), nearby Jennette Pier for great swimming.

This hotel let itself down by the simplest thing!

Posted 22-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Great hotel, the rooms were lovely, great outside decking and close to restaurants - if on the main road. What really let this place down was that there was NO CLEAN LINEN on our bed - our bed had not been made!!!!! We checked in, went out and got back to room 9 about 10.30 and got ready for bed. When I pulled the sheet back, I found a long blond hair (I'm grey) and some grit in the sheet. When I pulled the sheet back further, I found a sports SOCK. By then the house keeper had left and the office was closed. The joining instructions gave an emergency number - we debated phoning but decided it wasn't enough of an emergency and so we had to put towels on the bed and sleep on them instead. But this was not ideal and spoilt our enjoyment of what was otherwise a most beautiful room which was so disappointing. Perhaps we should have phoned. In the morning the house keeper returned. We told her about the dirty sheets on our bed and showed her the sock - we gave it to her in a clear plastic bag. She was adamant that she had made the beds in room 9 herself. There was no point in arguing with her. We gave her the bagged sock and she said she would 'let management know' . This was such a shame. We were only there for one night and it could so easily have been a fantastic stay.
