Decent stay for the price

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Overall good value for the price vs. others in the area. Nice piece of beachfront, it's wide with lots of space. Pool is ok, a bit worn but water was clean. The rooms were about as expected in price range, the bed was old and you could feel the springs..the room was clean were you could see but if you look behind the curtains and such there was heavy dust and dirt. The staff was great and very pleasant.

Hotel was close to the beach.

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Pros: It was close to the beach.
Cons: Honesty about peoples thing that may be left behind.
Location: Beach and shopping.
We left some high dollar bathing suits on the back of the bathroom and called them and they would not look for us. House keeping must have took them. We live 4 hours away and realized this half way home. Not happy with the hotel staff on this issue.

Great location and amenities, not the cleanest

Posted 08-Aug-2014
Pros: Decent breakfast, free popcorn and cookies for guests anytime. Nice location right on the beach.
Cons: Our room had a LOT of hair all over the bathroom floor and in the shower drain when we arrived. Beds seemed clean but the floors made me feel sick.
Location: Beach right out the door, sand volleyball court and pool right there. Restaurants would be a little farther walk or drive.
We stayed here for two nights and it was one of the best values we found of all the hotels in the Outer Banks. This place is nothing fancy, but if you're on a vacation you shouldn't be staying in your hotel all day anyway!

Save your money and go elsewhere

Close to the beach, rooms were super tiny, bathroom was disgusting, sink was broken. Had a wonderful view of the parking lot, room didn't even have a balcony. The hotel is old and in disrepair. Would never go back again.

Not a 3*.....location was the only good thing.

Checked in went, thought room was small went to beach and on our return key card wouldn't work. Informed we were given wrong room and told we had to move to a much smaller room after already being assigned and used room?? Tried to argue as were not in the mood after travelling all day to pick up and change to the closet we were given for 170 $??? Not impressed this is a noisy, small with lousy beds 2*

Worked for us.

We just spent one night. Drove down from lake gaston. If you stay a week check on room size. Ours was small, but we just needed to crash for the night. Room was clean. Beach motels take a lot of abuse so you can't expect them to look new. Easy beach access

Nice staff, cramped, dirty and loud room

Posted 05-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: Truth in advertising. A small room should not be sold to a larger group.
The room was facing the road, which was fine as we were only staying one night. The AC lacked the power to cool the room and never really caught up; it was a "muggy" stay. When we booked the room, we were told that it would accommodate our 3 kids and us...that was taking some poetic license. The room was incredibly small before we added the missing rollaway bed, and nearly impassable afterwards. I understand the minimalist beach cottage deal, but this was a joke. The bright note was the staff, both front desk and breakfast, who were exceptionally friendly and professional.

Tiniest Room Ticks

Posted 04-Aug-2014
Pros: Staff, breakfast, checking out
Cons: Cleanliness, access to 2nd floor OR specific information in ads of no elevator.
Location: NICE beach assess. Close to many sites, restaurants, Light Houses, fun activities
Upon arrival I was told that there was no elevator to the second floor and had elderly people traveling with me. After getting to the room with luggage, one person took a shower and changed clothes and THEN noticed a small tick on her foot. The sheets and spreads didn't look clean. There was a chair but no table. The wifi was out the first night and most of the following day. OLD hotel that hasn't been maintained well. Lobby is nice, breakfast was good, hot, variety of options. Desk staff were hugely helpful and desiring to please - even helping with bags upstairs. But for the rate and all the other hotels available, I would surely go to another hotel in the future!

Room was very small. Not at all like the picture. Hotel is old and needs updating. Under no circumstances would I stay again

Good price and convenient location

Weird layout for bathroom. Very awkward. Clean and comfortable as a place to sleep. Too small to spend much time there. Overall what I expected for the price. Parking on site but you have to get in early to get a spot.
