An amazing experience, the fact your staying in a "tent" is truly great but it's a tent like no other! The outdoor shower was a great touch. We stayed half board which included choosing 3 courses from their a la carte menu, would definitely recommend you stay half board?
This is truly in the Karoo with a fine walk to a waterfall in the hills. Although the restaurant is a "captive restaurant" as it's the the country, the food was fine country food- not a large selection, but lamb that tasted like lamb and chicken that tasted like chicken.
We were greeted warmly by the lady of the house and shown to our room which had a private entrance with an en suite bathroom. The room was very large with 10 or more foot ceilings. There were coffee making facilities and a fridge in the room. Very comfortable bed. The WIFI worked perfectly in the room. There was also a porch going around the building with a table and chairs for each room. The cactus garden which is a passion of the man of the house was very interesting to look at. Wonderful grounds to walk about.
Finding the hotel was difficult because it did not have a decent sign outside in the street and the entrance was actually via the car park which was accessed via a narrow unsigned allyway.
The reception area was uninviting.
In spite of the hotel having some fifty+ rooms and there being only three rooms occupied we were placed in a room at the end of the corridor as far away from the facilities as it was possible to be and we found the room to be extremely small and very basic. The carpet was thin and stained and of such poor quality that it must have been threadbare when it it was laid. The bathroom was also small and very basic. The dining area was dark and uninviting and the food choice and quality poor. The best bit was the breakfast room and the breakfast. We had booked for two nights but we stayed only the one night.
