The location was great. The Hotel is undergoing renovations, Pool closed, since Sept. 06, 2011 and will be for some time,kids a bit disappointed, did nnot have this information before booking.Our Room, Garbage container left full. Half of the ceiling had dark smoke damage stain on it. The other half had dried orange something.No value for the money.

“Not impressed”
The location was great as its very close to Parliament, but the neighborhood was a little seedy after dark. Wouldn't want to walk around alone at night. The hotel clerk left me waiting at the counter even though there were four of them standing around. The room was very disappointing. There was an open panel left open in the ceiling and the ventilation and wiring were exposed. There was also mold around the tiles in the bathroom. The room was very dated. Would have splurged a little more to get a better hotel. And you have to pay for parking to boot. At least the internet was free which was more than I can say for the last hotel we stayed at.
Area recommendations
Stay on the south side of river near the parliament building. You pay a little more but it would be much more convenient and you won't have to look for parking.

This hotel would need to be updated. There is no free parking and the personel is looking to go on strike.

“Not impressed”
Not clean, rundown, and a bit far off from the prime attractions. Worse still was the condition of the bed and linen, and was not happy to be put in a smoking floor when I asked for nonsmoking. Front desk staff were polite and apologetic, but there was not much they could do with limited resources. The hotel needs a refit.

“Good Value for your money”
I stayed for three nights around July first at the hotel. The room was large clean and comfortable. The service was good and the restaurant has good food. The location is very convenient. I would definitely recommend the hotel. The only drawback I have they don't have fridge in the room. Also they had some renovation going on at that time and it was noisy during weekdays very early in the morning (7:30 am). Other than that it was great.

“An Average Hotel”
This hotel needs an upgrade of the furniture, linen and especially the bad cover. The bathroom was fair, except the tiles were brown adding to the impression of this room - used.
It is unfortunate that the room was worn, because the hotel staff was excellent, and they provided excellent service.
Area recommendations
The neighborhood is quiet, well fit for families. There is greenary around the Hotel pleasant for family walk.

“A promising hotel”
The hotel had some good aspects. Some of the staff were excellent. The restaurant had great food. Our room however was uncomfortable. The air was not working, it did not have a window that opened or a balcony. The hotel staff were great in trying to accomodate by giving us a fan. Still, not bad for the price point.

“Would never go back”
The lobby was nice and that's it! The room was old & not very clean. The drawer of the desk would not stay closed. The bed linen was flimsy. It just didn't look & feel like a "Holiday Inn" room.

Stay at the Ramada Manoir du Casino in Gatineau ... we loved that hotel.
