“Bostonian Exec Suites could be.”

FOR: Location, roominess, comfortable well almost AGAINST: some staff are on automatic most of the time therefore responses are mostly pre programmed which can cause confusion. Great idea to have a guest laundry except there is never any change avaiable, no wash powder dispenser. The general ambience of the hotel is spoilt by the obvious cost cutting taking place, probably staff training is one. The beds are small for their type and the linen, towels are a grade below what they should be. The breakfasts are a lottery, sometimes you get cereal and sometimes you don't. CONCLUSION: A pity as this hotel almost made it and with some interest by the executives it could easily change overnight.

Area recommendations
Very close to a lot of restaurants and services. 20 minutes walk to city centre. Nice atmosphere in the neighborhood

“Best receptionist ever”

The daytime receptionist Michael made my short stay wonderful! He helped me with printing papers, getting a taxi, parking and much more. His attitude was pleasant and the only reason I would return would be because of him. Give this guy a raise or promotion! Also, the rooms were nice. The desk area was oddly shaped and poorly lit with halogen white lighting. The location of the hotel was great as it is close to the Parliament building and other central points of the city. Also, the room comes with a small kitchen. I would suggest brining some groceries to the room and making a small meal. I ordered in and it was quite expensive. It was a local lebanese mom and pops restaurant, but AMAZING food. Like an arabic kitchen!

“Convenient in-town location”

Clean, friendly, conveniently located hotel within walking distance of Elgin Street, and crawling distance of Bank Street, both with plenty of eateries. Included continental breakfast is a little basic, but it's enough to get you going in the morning.

“Great value”

This is a slightly older hotel and a bit far from the more interesting parts of Ottawa but still within walking distance of everything (although a bit of a cool walk in winter). I've been back several times..

“nice location”

First, parking is tight--they only have a few parking places so get there early. Very close to bus stop. Bus is best used to get around. However, staff didn't know where or how to get bus passes. Breakfast was the usual but breakfast room is small.

Area recommendations
Might be best to get a place closer to downtown and walk to all attractions. Bus travel can get expensive and takes time.
Must see
Take the tour of the parliment building--fantastic.

“Cozy small room for 2 - 2 Star Business Hotel”

I had a good stay. The room was not very large. Only Good for 2 person (Had a single queen bed). It was well decorated. Had a small kitchenet with a dishwasher, refridgerator, stove, microwave, and some dishes. Television was nicely located and in good condition (LG model at the time). Had a 2 person balcony. Beautiful window blinds. Bed was comfortable. Regulating the A/C did not work as expected, however it did the job. Bathroom was very small. You had to slide into the side to close the door. Found some strange residue on the walls of the bath tub ceramic tiles and mould at the bottom of the shower curtain. Wireless Internet access was unreliable. Had to be in the hallway to receive a functional signal. I would rate this hotel a 2 Star due to poor detailed cleanliness of the bathroom and poor internet access. Location of the hotel is ackward and parking design very dangerous during busy times as it has only 1 way, in/out. It requires patience and prudence when entering/leaving. Parking space/lot was snug tight. Minimal space to enter/exit vehicle. Staff was kind enough to offer the inside parking at no charge, which made me happy due to the high cost per day. For business purposes, conference rooms are available. Complimentary breakfast was very basic. You may want to go elsewhere for better variety or more sustaining breakfast.

Area recommendations
I am not very familiar with the area/neighborhood. I felt people at stores and restaurant to be very kind and helpful.

“Great place - felt like home.”

Loved it! Staff were helpful & friendly. Very well furnished & comfortable room - great view & quiet neighbourhood. Really appreciated the heating/cooling system (no noise!). Walking distance to many attractions and one block from grocery store (Bank St.). Kitchen was well equiped & clean. Only complaint: tub tiles and access door to room were not very clean. Price also includes a light breakfast for those in a rush (muffins, toast, cereal, etc.).

Area recommendations
The Bostonian is very well located if you enjoy walking. Parliament Hill, Museum of Nature, NAC are all within a 30 -40 min. walk. A lso has a great variety of shopping, pubs & restaurants nearby.

“Great hotel for the Great price”

This was a great/comfortable hotel for a great price. I read the reviews and thats how i picked this hotel. nice rooms/spacious and just enough for my husband and I. the only thing is its located in a bit of a shaddy area and farther from some of the main attractions than i expected but ottawa is small and you can go anywhere easily and on foot anyway. breakfast wasnt THAT great but its enough for the amount of money you pay anyway to stay at the hotel :). i would stay at this hotel again :). btw, u might be able to save if you can park your car elsewhere as it cost to park ur car at the hotel.

parliament ottawa has many museums to choose from
