“Surprisingly worn down”

Given the many new and modern buildings in the area, I was quite surprised to find Scandic Sjolyst to be quite worn down. Room lighting was sub-par for working. The television was an old, noisy CRT. The bed was a bit too firm to my liking. Also, one of the two elevators (servicing a total of 9 floors) went out of order while I was there, so living on the 6th floor was a bit of a waiting game. Prices are also a bit on the high side with a beer setting you back a solid 99NOK in the bar, and a cup of coffee was 34NOK. The hotel is conveniently located to where I was visiting, but it is not one where I am dying to visit again - although, I will probably have to. By all means, it's not terrible. Only okay.

Nice hotel, overall. Great internet connection, both via cable and wi-fi. Something they will not tell you, unless you ask, is that you can get a free voucher to go to a nearby gym for free.

“good business hotel”

I stayed here for pleasure purposes rather than business purposes and on hindsight it was more than what I needed. This would be a good hotel for a business traveller as my room was spacious, clean and tidy, with a good shower room. It was also in a more business oriented district with not much eating or drinking venues within reasonable walking distance later at night. Breakfast was relaxed with a good choice of food available and plenty of seating. Overall though an enjoyable experience.

Gutes Hotel in zentrumsnaher Lage, kostenloses WLAN, im Vergleich zu ähnlichen Hotels sehr umfangreiches Frühstück!

Lage etwas abseits der Inenstadt, zwischen Bahnschienen und autobahn. Fenster nicht ganz dicht, daher hoher Geräuschpegel.

Hotel liegt zwar nicht sehr zentral, dafür in unmittelbarer Nähe des S-Bahn Bahnhofs Skoyen. Von da sind es wenige Minuten bis zur Station Nationaltheater. Es gibt gratis Internet und ein sehr gutes im Preis inbegriffenes Frühstückbuffet. In direkter Nähe des Hotels befindet sich ein Supermarkt, Kiosk, McDoof, div. Restaurants etc.

uniche note negative: un po fuori mano rispetto a City Hall (raggiungibile comunque con l'autobus 31 la cui fermata e' a 5min dall'hotel), una delle 3 ragazze della reception non molto comprensiva del mio inglese approssimativo (le altre gentili, sorridenti e disponibili). Nella stanza ho trovato 2 lampadine fulminate. Non consiglio la cena (costosa e menu poco vario) Per il resto colazione abbondante, camere pulite e comode (c'e' persino l'asse e il ferro da stiro), bagno pulito.

Etwas ausserhalb vom Stadtzentrum in einem modernen Büro- und Einkaufsviertel gelegen. Mit dem eigenem Auto gelangt man bequem zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten (Innenstadt, Holmenkollen, Vigelandpark). Zimmer sind etwas klein und machen teilweise einen abgewohnten Eindruck (u.a. Absplitterungen an den Armaturen). Das Zustellbett war nach Auskunft unserer 10jährigen Tochter sehr unbequem.Für Osloer Verhältnisse aber insgesamt ein gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis
